Does this item work on the 2017 MacBook Pro?

Yes it does. Mine arrived today. Using it to attach a Lacie Rugged portable hard drive to my Macbook Pro 2017 for Time Machine back up. It’s working fine.

What's maximum power output?

I did a power test; this adapter reduces the power to 10 watts which is odd.... A proper USB C to USB C cable does 60 watts on the same test.

Can I upload media from a usb flash drive into my iPhone with this device?

No, you need Apple’s Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter. Whilst you can shop around for a cheaper price, beware of fakes and cheap imitations. This is in no way a reflection on Anker, this product isn’t for an iPhone.

No. The iPhone 7 does not have a USB-C port
