Assassin's Creed Syndicate (Xbox One)

Though a fan of the AC series since the very first one, i have to admit that none have really lived up to the bar set by AC2 / Brotherhood, as this game (+ the follow up version) was pretty much unmatch for story and puzzles. I find myself comparing it generally to my favourite in the series AC2... which is good, so here goes -Starting on the possitive side of AC - Syndicate, the gameplay and the new zipwire tool bring back the fondness i had for AC2, the combat and controls are familiar and easy to get used to and adapt to (should you be a new player). It seems that without the multiplayer option, Ubisoft has focused more on what matters, the gameplay, this has worked tremendously well and kept me interested pretty much throughout the game. The main characters you play also have their charm, and Jacob's personality brings back memories of Ezio's great personality... To have a good game you need a good lead character. It definetly feels better than AC Revelations / AC3 / AC4 / AC Rogue and AC Unity and a bit better than Brotherhood.With alot of side activities to do, it also keeps you interested for some time. I was weary with it being set in the industrial times, as i didn't think this would be a good setting or fun time to play, but Ubisoft sure proved me wrong.Negatively looking at things - There are little to no puzzles, which is probably why i liked AC2 so much, i enjoyed the mental challenge too... Syndicate lacks these.Like with lots of AC games it is something that in a sense is difficult to just pickup and play without owning alot of the previous titles, as the major (but background) story in AC games need to follow on from previous titles, this, though still no exception has tried to tackle that issue, perhaps it could have been done better, but i still feel that for Syndicate it is better to either have owned all AC titles, or at least for this storyline, owned AC4 / AC Rogue / AC Unity to fully appreciate the story.All in all, a great game and has plenty to do, if Ubisoft continues developing the AC title like they have with Syndicate rather than the other "latest" titles, i have no worries for its future!

I don't often review things, but feel compelled here. I received this game on Sunday and have played approx 6-7 hours. Let me start by saying I am a Creed Fanboy. I love the story, and the way it follows a singular arc. When the Desmond Arc finished, The Juno Arc began and I feel like we are mid way through that now. Syndicate is all the better for not including a multiplayer. You can tell that the extra development time released for the single player story has made for a really refined experience. In terms of how it feels, it is as good as AC2. In my opinion Revelations is still the best of the bunch, for story, gameplay, and replayability.This carries a lot of mechanics over from Unity. The Parkour system, and upgrade paths, plus the liberation of segments through side missions remain. I think where this games strength lies, is in the characters. You feel a lot more connected to them this time round. Importantly, there seems to be a decent narrative to the Out of Animus action too, although as yet I have only experienced cut scenes, no real world action.I think a conservative estimate of playtime for this game, for a regular fan of the series is 30-40 hours. you could blast through it more quickly but that misses the point of Creed. The graphics are stunning, Victorian London is faithfully recreated. However being so early on, it is difficult to say.If you are a fan of Creed and followed it from the start, then this is a worthy addition. The story seems to be perfectly "on arc" and will please any fan. The game is more polished and everything has none of the frustrations the previous two games had.All in all, definitely one for the xmas stocking.

Just a quick summarised review as I'm only midway through the game. The London setting is beautiful and the two main protagonists, Jacob and Evie are likable and interesting characters. The map is huge, therefore the addition of the horse and carriage to get around and explore is a very welcome feature. There is lots of collectibles, side missions, upgrades for both characters as well as for your gang and collectibles to keep you busy. It's also great meeting the historical characters like Marx, Darwin, Dickens, Bell etc, seeing the mass poverty and child labor in which really makes London in this industrial era, feel like the way it should be.Now the hand to hand combat is quite fun, with lots of decent finishers however I can not help but feel that Jacob and Evie are much to similar in combat, without their own unique style of fighting. Also the bugs... so many bugs! People going through walls, running on the spot in mid air (actually had to switch characters at this stage), running up to a horse and being able to move it aside like it was as light as a feather, your arms going through enemies in combat, and also in one particular cut scene a floating gun with the person invisible who was holding it (of course clearly not meant), Can't help but feel that all these bugs really get in the way of what is a beautiful game. However I'd imagine Ubisoft will resolve this at some point, but until then I give a 3 star rating.

One of my favourite AC's so far. The London map is huge and there's so much to do. Plenty of side quests and it's so much easier to get around with the new gadget but I guess this is because the streets are wider. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole game. The graphics seem to either have stayed the same since Unity or went down a little but I wasn't too bothered as the content is there. It's great to have the choice between the Female with Stealth and male with a more Combat approach to things. All the characters seem to have alot more personality than the last AC aswell. There are quite a few glitches in the game which I didn't expect from the newest AC. Also the fact it isn't coop or multiplayer (which would have been great with carriage races and wrestling) stops me from giving it 5 star. Overall though a really good game and worth the money if you enjoy AC.

The depth and detail of the of the game environment is astounding in Assassin's Creed Syndicate for Xbox One. The lighting is perfectly graduated and the mood created are noticeable, as is the sound in all departments. Speaking of sound, it is well worth using the full surround facilities as the game protagonists may attack from behind.The gameplay is as you might expect it considering the title. Parents should take responsibility if they are considering an xmas present for a child. The "cut-throat" murderous adventures are graphic. The game itself is all the better for being one player only, something that has been a happy surprise to players that want a challenge but not the risk of other "personality intrusions" that sometimes plague live play. The game as expected is mission based, on a broad overall storyline. Set in an older London, this game is simply a haven for those wanting to "merge" fiction into a factual environment. It also leads one to realise some of the hardships of older generations to a small degree. The adventures are quite various and lead to additional equipment and "powers", which is common to role based adventure games. Gaining sufficient advancement allows the player to relax a little and enjoy a walk of carriage drive in some stunning scene programming. I mean this..! Players should genuinely take the time to appreciate the quality of Ubisoft's programmers, by walking through the immense world that they have created. Yes, there are a few glitches here and there but nothing that spoils the overall effect.Fighting and killing..... (for the overall good - if that is possible) is the order of the day (where have we seen this before).... But the experience is an immersive and compelling one. Auto saves are good and transitions are seamless for most parts.Loading times seem long but only because you want to continue on and on... Considering the detail and depth of the game all is very good.I heartily recommend this game....

When I got the game, the Xbox seal was intact and it was all in good condition. I was surprised to see that the game came with additional content (The Darwin and Dickens conspiracy mission).I'm not very far into the game but I love it already. There are a lot of new features in this game that really improve the experience. Compared to all of my other games, this installed and updated very quickly.Edit: I'm about half way through the game now. The story is interesting, the game itself is stunning and the two main characters have more personality than any of the past characters. They seem more 'human'.I actually live on the edge of London so I can tell you that the map is accurate and the buildings and other notable things that are still here today (such as Big Ben, the River Thames, Trafalgar Square...) I was actually shocked at the accuracy. I like that the characters and people have a range of British accents rather than just the snobby one and the poor, cockney one. England has a lot of accents for such a small place and London has a bit of everything.The details in the game are accurate and beautiful. The uneven cobbled streets with leaves and puddles are perfect. The way that the buildings look are great and you can see the weathers affects on them. There are plenty of nice little details such as old paper posters on fences, tracks down the muddy alleys where many carts have marked, weeds and other plants that grow along the train tracks... It looks beautiful.I would certainly recommend.

I didn't play Unity, but I heard a lot about it (because I don't live under a rock) and I was nervous because I adore the Assassin's Creed games. Except 3 - 3 can go to hell. I love the setting of London and the parts that I recognise look very much like how it looks now e.g. Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square. It's set in a time where gangs were a large part of London life, and where the rich very easily took advantage of the poor. This led to a great variation in missions that frustrated me in other games because I was just so sick of tailing, killing, stealth. There is still some of that but there's so much more. Now on certain assassination missions you can choose which option you want to use to infiltrate. For example, I just completed a Tower of London mission where I had to assassinate someone inside surrounded by Templars. I could either loot the master key and go in, rescue the constable who had been locked up by Templars and he got me in the building safely, or I could find a fellow assassin disguised as a guard and he'd take me in. This leads to a lot of replayability.Everything is explained very clearly in the beginning of the game so you really get a feel of how to do things and the rope launcher is the most fantastic addition I could think of as the map is huge and the buildings (as they are in London) would take ages to climb across and the streets are too wide.I'm really excited to see what comes next in the series as I finally feel they've got it right and they're in a great position to intrigue everyone with where they go after the Victorian age.

Having played other more recent assassin's creed game, I thought I would investigate one of the previous games in the series.The beginning was not that great, I started it then left it for a while but that was a mistake. Once you complete the opening sequence it is a much better game.The controls and gameplay are not as refined as more recent games, but after a while you get used to them. The graphics are pretty good and almost as good as Origins.It faithfully recreates Victorian London and it was enjoyable to explore the map and places which I know from memory having visited London.The missions are well designed and enjoyable and not too difficult to complete.Overall a worthy edition to the series, one of the better Assassin's Creed games.

je suis très déçus de cet article que j'avais commander en version anglaise et où on ne peut mettre ni les sous-titres en français, ni le jeux lui-même, aucune possibilité de le renvoyer ni de l'échanger. c'est la toute première fois que je suis déçus par amazon, moi étant un bon client.

I enjoyed playing this game. I liked switching back and forth between characters.
