That's what I bought it for but, unlike the Kindle fire I had previously it has a classy feel. A much better screen. Excellent battery life. Full access to the play store. Browses effortlessly. Picks up your emails. Checks out Facebook. Where the Kindle fire chugs on all those things this tablet is silky smooth. With all my basic programs I use everyday the 8gig memory onboard has 2 gig free. It is not an iPad so don't expect to fit unlimited apps. The screen is too small for that but for bedtime reading and checking out your updates this is a little gem of a tablet. You can even put a memory card in if you want to save all your photos on it.
