Thanks in advance!** A: This is the newest version of the black Pro-pointer but there is a newer type of pointer from Garrett called Pro-pointer AT which is orange and is fully waterproof and has an improved switch. The black pointer is weatherproof but water can get into the internals through the switch seal so if you go for the black pointer I'd definitely recommend using a dirt cover available online which sell for about £5 to keep it totally dry and protected. My black pointers both have covers on and have lasted for years. The orange pointer does not need extra cover but they are also available online if you want to keep the unit extra protected from mud. **Q: Will this find metal wall ties in a Brick house wall** A: Depends on the depth of the wall.
