Yes ordinary headphones will work fine in this Garrett. You'll need the (1/4 inch) to 3.5mm 6.35mm adapter if your phones have the smaller 3.5mm plug. You can get either the mono or stereo type, it shouldn't matter which.

Hi there I haven't bought any for mine. But I know there is 2 that is compatible both are garrett brand , because its a different jack plug size. Garrett treasure headphone via amazon website for 19 pound is best available

He garret ace 250 is a fab detector. Yes it is waterproof (not the control hub) but it may give some false readings in water as there is no specific saltwater search setting - if you want one purely for in the saltwater then there are others that will do the job for similar money.
