It is informative of relevant ecological concepts and quandaries and tells them in a very readable manner, which is something I feel many texts lack. The book is several years old, but at my time of writing this review, there are no issues concerning outdated information to my knowledge.It may not be for those who are completely oblivious to ecology, but those with a basic understanding of the key concepts will find them greatly enforced and expanded upon from this text. I would recommend it to undergraduate students who enjoy ecology very much, or for graduate students who need a refresher on some of the more important parts of ecology.Also, compared to other ecology texts, this one is very economical. I found this book upon the recommendation of a professor in my department when preparing for our qualifying exams (which I passed with flying colors), and have lent it to the new students in our department studying for their exams this April.Highly recommended for a class textbook, personal reference, and an enjoyable ecological read (seriously!).
