Perfect Punches for a Pretty Price
A good value for money set of punches that will cut there way through leather, rubber and other similar materials up to a few mm thick. Their use benefits from a steady hand and some force with a suitable hammer to punch out perfect circles. The punches are nicely manufactured for their relatively low cost (approx. a fiver) and will happily work over and over again as long as a soft wood base is used beneath the item being punched. If the tips dull over time they can be very carefully sharpened using a cutting stone etc. The only thing to be aware of is the sizes are approximate (in my case 5mm is actually 4.66mm, and 6 mm is 5.7mm etc.) and the material being punched must be capable of stretching to allow the thickness of the tools shaft to pass through when punching a hole. The larger diameter punches have quite thick shafts and force the material to stretch quite a lot. There are other style punches out there that are thinner (and likely much more expensive) but leather belts and rubber sheet etc. generally stretch without issue. I'm pleased with these punches for the price.

Great punch set; I'm delighted with my purchase.
I ordered this punch set to add additional holes to tighten existing leather belts and straps (some of them are very thick). The punches are very easy to use, and sharp enough that 1-2 blows with a hammer (over a wooden surface) did the job easily. There are different sizes in the set, and the punches produce very clean holes that look identical to the originals. I paid £4.56 for the 9-piece set, and feel that it's very good value for money.

Good punch for the price but slightly dull out of the box.
If you're not punching holes every day and just pull out the tool once in a while, this punch set is spot on. It's affordable, tough, and after a bit of tweaking it does the job effortlessly. Out of the box I found it was struggling to cut through 1mm of rubber composite. This was easily fixed by sharpening the tool, to do this I used a dremel with a grinding bit and now it could cut through the material. I didn't mind this extra effort as the price for the full set is so low.

Pleasantly surprised
I've not owned punches before and took a punt with these as I often require new holes in leather belts and the swiss army makes a bit of a messy job of it. They were semi sharp out the pack but I gave one a quick sharpen on some fine wet n dry then got right to adding some lacing holes on my Brookes saddle. 2-3 good whacks and I was getting good clean holes through the 4mm thick leather, perfect. Just make sure to do it on a wooden block sat on a solid surface (concrete floor in my case) and put some scrap leather underneath the material you are punching so you preserve the sharp edge. A nylon mallet is best but a regular hammer would be ok too. Couple of quid couldn't have been better spent I reckon.

Sturdy durable punch set, Highly Recommend!
I use a punch for one job at work, punching 15 holes in a rubber sleeve that then has a plastic strip inserted into it and is riveted to a solid plastic mold. Every day the same job 6 or 7 times. I had a punch given to me but it grew legs so i saw this set, less than four pounds and some good reviews. * There are seven punches in the pictures, the set did come with nine, at the time of reviewing two were on long term loan, am unsure who to, but they also grew legs! * There is something about using nicely weighted hand tools, or things that are heavier than you anticipate comparable to size, the weight of these punches is quite considerable considering there size, in a good way. * The finish to my naked eye looks very good, i like the rough texture grip on the shaft, the edges are not too thick on the punch end. * As said i only use one size for one job, 6 or 7 times a day, in the 3 months i have had this i have never had any issues, the punch makes a nice crisp hole at the first time of the hammer asking, each and every time. * I cant comment on the size accuracy of the punches as i work with a fair amount of tolerance so even if i were to lose the punch i use i could safely size up or down at least one punch and still fit the rivet into the hole made. Overall i am really happy with the set, i might have use for the others but if not and i have one punch for the price point i picked them up at i would be happy. A set of 9 punches for under £4 at the time of writing is just brilliant value. Highly Recommended. Five Stars.

Useful punches
Bought these punches, even though I only wanted the 6mm one. Used this to punch holes through 3mm thick rubber sheet. Works well, as good as a single steel punch which costs £75+ Only drawback is that the punch fills up and needs to be emptied after each punching. Great value for money.
