Whilst cheap foam plugs are meant to be thrown after a few wears, these are washable and should last a year or more so most riders will save money over cheaper foam plugs if they need to wear these regularly. They come in a handy zipped pouch which can be attached to your key ring so you don;t lose them. Best I've used on a motorbike to date and certainly the most comfortable. This time I opted for the tour ones, but I am not enjoying them at all, while they reduce wind noises they feel smaller and don't fit as well as the other ones did. Another note is about engine noise, not sure how, but the bike feels incredibly loud with them, much more than if you ride without, and not in a pleasant way but very overwhelming. I would rate the race type 5/5 with great wind noises cancellation and very usable for navigation and conversation, perfect to wear for long time under the helmet, while the tour are for me a 2/5. Takes out some of the base as well. **Q: Do they have a case?** A: Yes they do have a case. Small case that can go on your keys. Great product **Q: Do they also protect your ears from engine noise, when driving a race car? Or just wind noise on a motorbike?** A: Hi! Good question. It will also filter out excessive engine noise. The filters are geared towards the harmful frequencies and a proper race car can definitely hit those tones. So yeah; they should definitely work in attenuation that; albeit not fully; just the harmful stuff. I've only ever tried foam ear plugs before and found them to be be very uncomfortable and they often fell out unless they were shoved right into my ears.
