E-Audio Sinlge Stereo Ceiling Speaker With Dual Tweeters

This is a great speaker. It has two sets of connections so you can play stereo music (left and right) from one speaker. This was good in my small bathroom where I didn't have room to put up two separate speakers. The connections on the back are nice and sturdy and hold the wires in well The clamps that holds it to the ceiling are really good too, they have a good design where they are held in place while you fit it into the ceiling hole and they spin round to clamp the speaker up as you tighten the screws from below. It really is easy to fit. Once you've fitted it, the grill just pushes over the top. As you can see from the picture, you can see through the grill a bit but the inside is nice looking and the two small speakers you can see in the middle look quite good when it's up on the ceiling. As for the sound quality, this speaker sounds great. Mine is installed in a suspended ceiling and the space behind really gives me a nice amount of base. I played around with the equalisation a bit and now have a nice balance of base vs the mid and high range sounds. I think this speaker could make a lot of noise but I don't need that in my small space. All in all I think it's a good buy for the price and it looks well made and built to last. The item is also well packaged for delivery so it's well protected and should arrive in good condition.

If you're looking at speakers in this price bracket then I imagine (like me) that you're looking for pleasant sounding speakers with ample bass, mids and treble. These provide just that. If you're looking to analyse their performance any deeper than that then you need to spend more ..... quite a bit more to be honest to make a noticeable improvement in sound. These were better than I expected and very easy to install. The first thing to note is that you only get the full bass once you install them securely to the ceiling - and the bass is ample. You get very little bass when testing them before installation (almost none), so don't base any decision until installed properly. I paired two of these 8 ohm speakers with a CableFinder - 30W Wireless Bluetooth Dual Stereo, 4 Output Amp Amplifier. One speaker in my bathroom and the other in the en-suite/shower room (each fully tiled which does add some reverb). I chose them based on reviews, price and the fact that each speaker takes left and right channels. I would buy again for this type of installation. I can't speak for surround sound installations.

Was originally looking at a dual voice coil q acoustics speaker at £130 but thought to give this a try not expecting much, but to my surprise the speaker does sound very very good. The speaker is being used in my bathroom which is about 3x2m. I'm powering the speaker from a small TPA 3116 amplifier board and cheap 7band parametric eq. Using a Google audio cast for source, fantastic! As I can gain access to the rear of the speaker from loft I've built an acoustic box over it to help with sound. Very happy with the sound, but don't expect booming bass, but over all sound is impressive with enough bass to satisfy most. The dual voice coil is great way to go as I replaced a small standard KEF speaker with mono to stereo trickery In place, but no need to drop £130 on the q acoustics. :)

Have installed 2 of these in my bathroom and sound quality is excellent. You can use just one speaker and connect all four wires to the inputs provided to give you mono sound from a stereo amplifier but even though I have a small bathroom the 2 speakers sound better than one. Easy to fit and quality is 1st class for the price. Next step up would be speakers over £100 and I can't justify that expense. ** Important note: These are a large diameter so consider that when ordering **

After all the positive reviews I was expecting these to sound a bit better than they do. They lack fidelity (poor high frequency response). Even with the tone controls of my Sonos turned up to boost the treble they are barely acceptable. I also have some Polk Audio and Kef ceiling speakers which admittedly cost more but despite the double tweeter arrangement of these they sound quite muffled. They are stereo speakers (ostensibly one voice coil and one tweeter for each channel) but I am using them as mono speakers by splitting the line level into two cheap stereo amps and using both channels of each stereo amp into each speaker. Since the high frequencies were so muted what I ended up doing was cutting one of the voice coil wires so that, for each speaker, I am driving both tweeters but only one voicecoil. Once the gain is increased to give the same overall volume, this boosts the tweeters relative to the woofers and has improved the sound somewhat, but I wouldn't buy them again. If you stand directly underneath them they sound okay-ish. If I'd only bought one of them I would have considered the possiblity that it was faulty, but the pair I bought are equally poor. They'd be fine if you only listen to radio4!

I've now bought 4 of these speakers. I've seen some reviews saying that they lack bass and I originally couldn't tell what people were talking about, or I thought maybe it was before they installed them (once installed my first two were far better than pre-install). The second two have been a different story. The first of the second pair, the main speaker is only driven by one of the two channels. This isn't much of an issue since in this case I'm using both channels through a single speaker (each channel has its own tweeter but share the main speaker), so the bass is driven by a single channel, whereas the tweeters are both channels. The second of my second pair, neither channel drives the main speaker. I think the problem is that the coil for the main speaker is connected to the speaker connectors with one very fine single core wire per pole, per channel, which runs down the inside of the cone. This is very fragile, so I'm guessing any big knock or bump (for example during delivery) could snap the wire. If one snaps you lose the bass for one channel, if one snaps on each channel you have no bass at all. I've still rated the speaker fairly high because my first two are fantastic and it's only by testing the 3rd when the 4th had no bass that I realised it only has bass for one channel... Probably worth testing thoroughly upon receipt and returning if there are any issues.. and hope you're lucky with the replacement because when they work they're very good value for money! I'm currently trying to fix my 4th speaker because I bought it quite a long time ago and I've just taken ages to get around to installing it, but it looks like this won't be easy because of the design which makes it hard to access the coil. Update: the lastest speaker I've received has a slightly modified design (see last 2 photos). Whilst the original fragile wires from the contacts to the coil still exist, they are supplimented by some more robust wires and the result is a much better product. No issues at all with this one!

These speakers are a little hidden gem (quite literally if you install it into your ceiling). For the price, they produce a very clear and vibrant sound. There is really good tonal reproduction (although don't expect too much bass). Just bear in mind that there are two separate drivers in each of these units, each with their own terminals, so you may need to keep this in mind whilst working out your impedance and the best way to wire them up. Installation is really easy. After cutting your hole, you just need a screwdriver to move the feet round and into position (the four holes in each corner). You don't need to have access from the top. The grill was a bit of a pain to get back on, so we ended up cutting the edge of it which did the trick. For the price these are unbeatable. Really happy with the result. They sound good and look the part.

I'd like to give a good review but as yet I haven't been able to complete my installation of two speakers. I ordered two speakers in December for an installation into my workshop that I was busy building. Eventually over the weekend I got them installed and working. They sound great except one of them was crackling badly. I checked all the wiring and amp and swopped speakers and it's defiantly the speaker that faulty. No problem, I ordered another to get it replaced and was just going to return the first. The replacement arrives and the tweeters aren't even attached to the speaker, just rattling around in the box. I'm sure they sound great, but clearly quality control is lacking so getting a good speaker seems to be pot luck.
