It can because it helps externally support the knee joint. I'd also suggest strengthening your quads too to get "internal" knee support as well - Bulletproof Your Knee has some good ex's.

Is the material good? Is it breathable and comfortable?

The material seems good quality. I have been using one for two years but I always wear it on top of my trousers and only when it is needed. It can be put on ( and off) quickly as and when needed. This means that I am not weakening my muscles by wearing it when it is not needed

Is this good for hypermobility/dislocating knee? Also I’m 5ft and a size 10 clothes would it fit ok? Thank you

I am sure this would be ideal for your problem and fitting is very good with lots of adjustability. I have a small peace of bone floating about if I walk for about 1hr it gets very painful. The strap is perfect for myself.

Your knee support Will depend mainly on what sport it is your doing. Also if you purchased the correct size. Rymora, vulkun and omeril produce expectionally good knee supports. If your not happy try another brand. Read the reviews.
