Excellent Value
When it comes to gardening then with perlite it depends on how much you use whether this is good value or even a good buy. I use a lot of both perlite and vermiculite, mixing it with compost and for cuttings - both can be used on their own as a medium to root cuttings. The two inert mineral products have many of the same characteristics but also different strengths. Perlite is better at aerating soil, for example, while vermiculite holds more moisture, soaking up water like a sponge. Both tend to be sold in garden centres in 10 litre bags at £8 to £10 a time these days, so 100 litres for the £21.25 I paid was a bargain. Be warned though, 100 litres is a big bag so you do need room to store it. If you use perlite then it is an economical way to buy and means you can afford to be more generous with its use. If you don't use perlite and don't really know much about it, then it is something well worth investigating.

Amazingly useful - got through a whole sack in 1 summer, ordered another
We have two things in our garden that benefit from this stuff, heavy clay soil and lots of stuff raised from seed / grown in pots I have found that pot grown things particularly benefits from mixing this in the compost. Best bean harvest for years, incredible success with foxgloves and other from seed etc. Use approx 1/4 perlite to 3/4 compost Once the pots have done their job, either raising seedlings or growing veg I empty the compost / perlite mixture in to the borders. It looks a bit odd for a while before the perlite mixes in Had to buy another bag, as autumn arrives we are repotting some of the big perennial pots and want to get this in the mix to help the roots to breathe Great product that is way cheaper bought in bulk

Great quality perlite
Great quality perlite! It always arrives quickly and is carefully packaged in a box, which I really appreciate. I’m very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this seller.

Large size especially is great value.
It's perfectly good Perlite, if a bit dusty - it's best used with good ventilation or outdoors, but not in a wind or it will go everywhere. A local independent, and normally good value, hardware shop sells tiny tubs of Perlite for about £3, enough for a single flowerpot, so 100 litres for £20 is an absolute bargain, though it's surprising how quickly it gets used up. I got through an awful lot in large containers for my tomatoes this year and it would probably have been cheaper to buy tomatoes from the supermarket. To be honest, I'm not sure it was really any better than just using compost; cleverer people than me say it helps though. I might just use it for sowing seeds or taking cuttings in future. I must confess I don't know what I'm going to do with all the spent compost mix at the end of the year. Any (polite) suggestions...?

A plant mamas/daddy’s dream! Perfect for indoor plants, particularly succulents!
Excellent product, with great value for money. I have added pearlite to all of my indoor and out door plants, to help with drainage, and I am seeing results already. I filled at least 20 plants, and there is still so much of it left. It seems like this bag would cover at least 200 plants if mixed without materials. My soil mix is: 1/3 perlite (1/2 for succulents) 1/3 Miracle Gro All Purpose SOil 1/3 Wrom Castings (natural fertiliser) The only negative is due to its lightweight properties, it has a tendency to get everywhere. So, avoid using outside if there is any wind! I was also conscious about the environmental factors, and how detrimental it is to wildlife. But I need to look more into this.

Excellent value, HUGE bag - MUST buy!
Only ordered yesterday, delivered today! It is a very large bag. Good job I didn't order more as I would have had no where to put it! Never purchased via Amazon before but I will certainly be purchasing from them again! When finances allow I shall also order the same size for vermiculite, ready for next years hanging baskets & summer pots etc. Never used Vermiculite before as it is expensive however, for its water retaining properties & in this size, it will be a good investment & as with the Perlite it will last me a long time. I find that the Perlite that helps with drainage, is very good for cuttings & young plants which when dormant do not want to be sat it soggy, muddy soil or compost. I will NEVER purchase this from a 'Superstore' again - ridiculously expensive.. Thanks Amazon! 😀

Five Stars
I used to buy this in 10 L. size from the garden centre and be paying £8 it then went up to £9 . I used a lot of this ,mixing with compost not only for seed sowing but at a rate of 10 measures of compost ,3 measures of perlite ,with 2 measures of vermiculite. .this mixed together was a good potting on mix too. It helps to airiate compost and aids good drainage . Being a natural element of a mineral source you are not adding a manmade chemical to compost .my seeds and plants have thrived since I have been using Pearlite. These larger bags work our sooo much cheaper and last simply ages .it beats the 1O L size , that's for sure .I would recommend this product .it has many uses.
