Expensive, but good quality and does what it says on the tin.
Second one of these privacy screens that I’ve had. Pricey, but excellent and easy to attach and remove to your laptop screen. I use the option provided to stick it on permanently. Unless someone is directly behind you they will really struggle to see your laptop screen The two sides provide a gold and dark option. I use the gold side as I think it looks much better and reflects the price (no pun intended). My colleagues have other options so I know that you can get much cheaper options that will work for you just as well, but we’ve all agreed this is the premier privacy screen of the ones we all have.

Great quality, works exactly as described
Delivered right away, meets all the specifications and works exactly as described. The filter makes the screen look completely black from any angle except the frontal position. From the frontal position, visibility remains unchanged, with no significant decrease in image quality or resolution when the filter is on. Very easy to remove and re-apply. I haven't noticed any issues with the adhesive substance as reported by other users, it keeps working like the first time.

A wonderful solution if rubber-neckers annoy you
This filter prevents people seeing what's on your screen, and it does its job well. Although the plastic filter does seem to reduce screen quality a tiny bit the lack of annoyance from people staring at your screen in public places makes it more than worth while. The filter is attached by a few plastic tabs that stick on the space around your screen. I don't know if this works on all laptops but I didn't have any problems. If you are annoyed by people trying to read your emails or watch your movies get one of these.

Affects the view too much and doesn't work well
Nicely packaged. It comes with three double sided tapes to stick the filter to the screen, and it also comes with a set filter holders to stick to the edge of the screen to slot the filter into place. The filter can be black or gold forwards, I found it made little difference except one looks a shade of gold and one a shade of black (you know what I mean!) from the side. It also comes with a cleaning cloth and instructions. The size is prefect for a 15.6 inch screen. That's all there is good about it. The efficacy is disappointing to say the least on both side (I went for the black in the end). There are five main issues with it which together make it a waste of money for me - I had to remove it in the end: 1. Moving from directly in front to round the side, it rapidly goes dark for the first 30 degree or so. But then it stops getting dark all the way round to the side. I do quite a bit of graphics work on the laptop and I can see the images I'm working on in a shade of dark grey all the way to an almost side-on view of the screen. Text is not legible but images are, so it is probably acceptable to keep text private only. 2. The problem with it rapidly half-working is that looking at the screen head-on, the edges are darker than the centre! This is a big distraction for me. I find myself moving my head from side to side to see the whole screen in the same shade. 3. It significantly reduced the brightness. I normally have my screen to about half brightness and now have to turn it right up to achieve the same brightness. (Which means I can do less work on the train because of the impact on battery life!). 4. The screen itself has a clearly visible mesh of parallel fine diagonal lines over it. If it was just darker, I could cope by turning up the brightness to the maximum as above, but looking through a diagonal mesh is very distracting. 5. The double-sided fixers are down the left, just where the icons are and they are very visible (they make the screen look "cheap"). OK, I could move the icons, but surely the filter should work for me, not the other way round? If you work only with text, have an amazing battery life (or work off the mains only), don't mind looking through a fine wire mesh, and don't mind the edges of the screen darker then the middle, then you may find this filter OK. But, for me, these things are too much of a distraction and unfortunately, this is over £40 very much not well spent. I shall look elsewhere.

Don't expect too much
The screen may be fine for most 17" laptops but is not really suitable for the MacBook Pro Unibody. Pros: 1) The filter does prevent people seeing data on your screen 2) the filter has a gloss and a matt side so you can use it to reduce the glare on your screen ( main reason I purchased it was to reduce the glare on my Macbook pro) 3) Is removable (the tabs do get a bit loose if you do this too often, and you will get finger prints all over it) 4) the quality of the plastic seems to be fairly good Cons: 1)The connectors that hold the filter in place look VERY cheap and tacky, on a sexy laptop in this, it looks like a do-it-yourself job. 2)If you have a high "dots per square inch" (DPI) resolution (like this17 inch screen) you will notice the separation of red green and blue, so it looks like a bit like you're looking through some kind of multicolour mesh. So not great during graphics or colour matching work. Does not produce the gauss effect so much for lower DPI screens, just tried it on my Samsung monitor. 3) There is a small piece cut out at the bottom of the filter so it looks a bit odd (its to help you remove the filter off the screen, still duff design) 4) I had to keep my screen on maximum brightness to match my previous monitor setting of 50%. 5) The battery life gets reduced by about 30% due to extra power consumption required to keep screen bright enough. Overall it does what it says on the tin but don't expect it to do it in style or efficiency. It doesn't fit the MacBook Pro well (wasn't expecting it either), I purchased it to reduce the glare on the screen without having to put the films on it and it does that well. In short, buy it but don't expect too much from it, if you want a privacy filter this is fine, as a basic anti glare this will also works for non high dpi screens. Its a little pricey for what seems like some sort of polarised plastic, but hey, most of us can't make them at home for less then what you pay for this.

Close, but the tabs need help
This is a quality product, but I do have mixed feelings. The sticky tabs that hold it on worked for a few days and then just started falling off - in the end, they're pretty useless. I'm now using extra-strong post-it notes to keep the screen held onto my Apple monitor, which of course looks silly. As far as the functions of removing glare and creating privacy, that works well enough. It doesn't remove all the glare, but it certainly helps on reflective monitors, and the privacy filter is about as good as could be expected. Overall, I'd say they could seriously improve how the screen is held on... for this price, it's a bit crazy that it ends up as just a sheet that you have to MacGyver on yourself.

Nosey, Nosey...
Excellent product though suggest you consider getting the next size up. The product itself is of good quality and offers excellent privacy. I estimate the viewing angle is around 45 degrees from the central position and my screen cannot be seen from a distance of 2 meters away. It also seems to create greater static and hence attracts more dust on the screen. So remember to wipe the screen a little more often Size: If you get the exact size, the screen will sit properly unto your laptop. However, there is a slight loss of visibility as the filter edges may obscure some words around the edges of your screen. The next size up is better, however, the filter now does not sit properly and can occasionally pops out of the fixing plastics. This is not an issue for me as I easily pop it back in the morning.
