Enlightening
Quigley is a must-read author if you want to learn how things actually went down in the 20th century.

Unfortunately all true and well written
A must read if you know there is more behind events than a scan. We'll written intelligent and thought provoking.

Very obscure book I was happy to find
The names and dates with events. It was good for me to find the piece of the puzzle that was missing. If you want the scoop on who or what controls world affairs and historical events without the distorting effects of media, then this is the book for you. "Give me control of the money supply and I care not who makes the laws." ... Nathan( Lord) Rothschild.

Excellent book
Dr. Quigley was an interesting fellow, and a very good historian. His work on this subject is extensive, though this, the first of his works, laid in wait until his death. For those who are familiar with Dr. Quigley's work will appreciate the foundations laid in this book. Its a good place to start before approaching the monstrously long Tragedy & Hope.

Another excellent book by Quigley
A great history about the hegemonic powers in western civilization.

HISTORY. First and foremost this book establishes the people who take front of stage and manipulate others and the general public to follow blindly into wars of aggression. However it's the people in the shadows one never sees, like those who fund the front men who make it their life's work to manipulate the people into believing whatever they are told. The Mainstream Media is and has been totally controlled by the same people and they are kept well funded by the shadowmen. Eg Plato's Matrix.

A landmark historical work that documents the members and activities of the ruling elite throughout the past century. Although it’s a dry and difficult read, it is a must read for all historians.

.. together with the select number of books such as Bodyguard of Lies by Anthony Cave Brown, First World War Hidden History by Jim Macgregor and Gerry Docherty, etc. .

Carroll Quigley was a distinguished professor of history at the Foreign Service School of Georgetown University, who also taught at Princeton and Harvard. His book The Anglo-American Establishment tells the true and fascinating story of a well-documented conspiracy by powerful financial and industrial interests to use their immense resources to literally take over the world. The British side of the conspiracy revolved around the Milner Group consisting of upstarts like Lord Milner operating in close collaboration with members of the aristocracy, bankers and industrialists with links to South African mining and the City of London (the capital's financial centre). Their partners on the US side were the Eastern Establishment, a group of banking and industrial interests like J P Morgan & Co, with close links to New York's Wall Street and associated East Coast interests. The above interests' agenda is exposed in great detail as the true moving force behind the conception of international organizations like the British Commonwealth, the League of Nations and a worldwide network of affiliated bodies like the Royal Institute of International Affairs (RIIA) a.k.a. Chatham House, its sister organization the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the Institute of Pacific Relations (IPR) and many others working for the same overarching aim. Though written in 1949, the book remains an important reference work, being cited in academic publications like I Parmar's Think Tanks and Power in Foreign Policy (2004) and should be taken as a starting point for any serious study of the topic. For a more up-to-date account I would also recommend The Milner-Fabian Conspiracy by Ioan Ratiu.
