Irwin Tools IRWIN Marples Forstner Bit Set, Wood Drilling, 8 Piece (1966892)

Nice, sharp and cut good. What I needed.

I was looking for a set of forstner bits to cut holes for scroll saw projects. I have used Irwin tools many times in the past and have been satisfied with their quality, so I decided to give the Irwin forstner bits a try after reading the reviews. The case is very well designed. The bits are very sharp and durable. The type of wood I have used the bits on so far has been primarily poplar wood which is a softer hardwood, so I can not attest to how the bits will work with the harder woods, but for what I need them for, they have performed as well if not better than expected. The case that the bits are enclosed in is very secure. Unlike some cases I have had, the bits do not drop out when opened if upside down, they are secure and have to be intentionally removed. It was a very good price and I am very pleased with this forstner bit set. I would highly recommend this bit set.

Awesome drill bits. I use them all the time. I build a lot of things from scratch using different types of wood and these drill bits work really great. I use them in my drill press all the time. The holes are perfect and true to size. I would recommend them to anyone who does woodworking

These are very nice but they do not fit in a standard diameter router as far as I could tell, so I had to use a drill.

Use these in my wood shop to drill the right sized holes in wood. They work great!

Super sharp bits and chew through wood quickly. I use them currently almost exclusively for building birdhouses which I make a lot of in the spring time. Might seem like an insignificant project but these bits chew through cedar better than bits I have used in the past. Leaves and very nice clean hole especially if you use a sacrificial piece behind it.

This was my first set of Forstner bits after struggling with paddle bits for 90% of my life. What a difference! These came with a light coating of oil to prevent corrosion, so be aware of that, but these hog through wood like nothing else. They've allowed me to drill clean holes in thinner plywood that would've otherwise blown out on the backside. You still need to exercise caution when drilling through thin materials, but I do feel like the quality of the holes was far superior to those of any other large bit I've used.

Irwin est une très bonne marque même leurs pinces. Je l'ai acheté en janvier et pas de rouille jusqu'à présent. J'en ai utilisé un peu et c'est très pointu, j'ai eu un très bon résultat comme prévu.

Extremely well made professional forstner bit set. Superb cutting performance leaving very clean cuts in the timber. The quality is high and the set contains a good selection of sizes. The included carry case is more than adequate to keep the bits safe & sound. These bits are like night and day compared to other cheaper versions and will last far longer. Very pleased with the purchase and would highly recomend.
