Cover on mine, no problem I don't see why they said that. **Q: "4w (35w halogen bulb equivalent)" this effect can achieve?** A: LED bulbs cost more, but they last longer and put out a similar amount of light - while requiring about 8 times less energy to do so. Filament-based incandescent bulbs aren't necessarily bad, they simply incorporate a less efficient method of producing light. **Q: can these be used in a vent hood?** A: If your vent hood uses E17 intermediate size bulbs it should not be a problem. Of course there are all kinds of vent hoods with all kinds of lighting on the market, but these seem to be the most common. We picked the 2700k rating because we wanted a warm color not cool color. I would say they are closer to 4000k.They also don’t dim. On or off. That’s it.
