Acid-Base, Fluids, and Electrolytes Made Ridiculously Simple: 9781935660293: Medicine & Health Science Books @ desertcart.com Review: Great book for arms/ACNP - I love it! It’s just a book I was looking for! Super informative and easy to follow!!! If you are struggling to understand Acid -Base, Fluids etc this book is for you!!! I work in CTICU and I am in ACNP program and needed to understand all of those topic fast and completely! Review: Easy Read - This book is GREAT for those who want a more in depth look at how fluids, electrolytes, and acid-base balance all intertwine. I used to work in dialysis, and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is in that field. It explains (if you apply the knowledge to what you have learned about dialysis) why bicarb is bicarb... Exactly how it buffers since the kidney can't and a LOT more!!! For any other Field, this is the basis you will use every time you read a BMP/CMP. You will be able to look at he labs and the symptoms to determine which fluids to use. You will know why you chose that one... not just because "they always do," but because you will understand the reason that fluid is chosen and another is not. A lay person could read this and understand pretty good... but someone with basic medical training (EMT-B, MA, etc..) could read this book and learn a lot from it. At the same time as a RN/Paramedic with 17 yrs behind me, I am learning & relearning a lot of things. It ties things I have seen over the years together and they make more sense now. Summary: DEFINITELY worth the money!!! If you are in Med school or school for PA, ARNP, RN, or Paramedic, I highly recommend you read this book in what little free time you have. You will be happy you did!!!

Good for review, just don't use as a primary text.
This book is a useful review of acid-base, etc. It does not make it Ridiculously Simple (nothing makes it ridiculously simple), but it is a straight foward and easy to read guide. I use it when I forget material I haven't studied for a while, as well as to make sure I'm not missing anything when teaching students basic physiology. When I was in my clinical days, I found that relying on this type of book instead of a more thorough text was a bad idea. However, after being exposed to fundamentals (e.g., good lecture and text), this book is useful. It is also useful to reference material for review, rather than pouring over ponderous resources. I'm glad I bought it, and it seems to provide what it's offering - well-written, concise review and overview with enough specifics to be useful. It is not enough for a novice or new learner, but I don't think it is intended to be. It would be nice to have a companion version with clinical case studies, but that would definitely not be "Ridiculously Simple", so would be way too much for this kind of book. If I ended up giving my copy to a student for some reason, I would purchase another one for myself. Why not 5 stars? 1) I don't see how anyone can use this as a primary text for learning the material (although that is not the stated purpose of this book), 2) I would like a bit more about molecular mechanism (which would probably not be consistent with the "Ridiculously Simple" part of the title, 3) depending on the reader's field, it might be more useful to read a Board Prep-type of text for review (but these types of books are definitely not for everyone or for every type of healthcare training program). So, I recommend not using this as a primary source because there is not enough explanation to learn the fundamentals. I do recommend it as a review of essentials and to see the big picture that is often obscured by more technical and in-depth texts.

This is an amazing book, I wish I had read it when I was in pa school! So succinct and helps with intuitive understanding of patient presentation. Make sure you work though the exercises at the end of each chapter!

Great for the NP student or RN
This book is excellent for the up and coming NP. The book itself is simple yet complex, and explains concepts in such a way that other books may not do so well in

A pesar de que tardó un tiempo en llegar, llegó en perfecto estado, sin usar, sin marcas y recién salido de producción, Me parece un poco caro para el tamaño pero fuera de eso, todo excelente.
