The Complete Peanuts 1987-1990: Gift Box Set - Hardcover

Once I found out about this series I bought all of the books. A bit expensive but so worth it. These are classics that will never get old. Having the series and finally reading the comics in chronological order gave me a better appreciation of the character development.

I've purchased every set I can find, and would enjoy anything else that is difficult to locate. Charles Schultz was and remains a GEM of a person.

Made a big hit with my brother-in-law while he was in the hospital. After all laughing is the best medicine. He is a big Peanuts fan so this was a good choice.

As always Peanuts can't be beat for pure entertainment to be enjoyed over and over again. I've got all the boxed sets from the beginning, 1950, to this latest set. Besides humor there is more humor. Nobody can ever go wrong getting these Peanuts sets. All the cartoon strips for the year in published sequence are in each book. There is always a great introduction in each book, too, by different personalities. By all means, buy this one and all the other sets, too.

I found this box set when looking for the 1989-1990 book that I saw in Barnes and Noble. I was so excited to find the set of two for less than the price of one book in store. The books were a gift for my fiance, and he absolutely loved them! The quality is fantastic, the cover is beautiful, and the comics inside were what you would expect from Schultz. The only bummer was that the Sunday comics are black and white too, instead of color, but I suppose that would be more authentic. I will be buying the other box sets in this series in the future!

This another great collection of Peanuts by the late Charles M. Schulz. It is about the varies adventures and antics of the Peanuts gang. The 1987-1988 includes Linus dealing with Lydia of the many names and mentions the great WW2 cartoonist Bill Mauldin. The 1989-1990s show Charlie Brown falling in love with Peggy Jean who thinks his name is Brownie Charles and introduces Snoopy's other brother Olaf.

While these strips do not have the energy an raw emotion of early Peanuts they often have a bittersweet quality and a gentle irony that still makes them better than any current strip. Schulz began to experiment successfully with different strip configurations using single panel, double and triple rather than his previous 4 squares. it did give a variation in rhythm to the strips so it was a good innovation. I am a fan of many great strips including Li'l Abner, Blondie, B.C, Hagar, Wizard of Id, Blondie, Krazy Kat, Calvin and Hobbes. But the peanuts strips is unrivalled for quality and longevity. Newcomers start at about 1954 but anyone following this series keep going this is a great set.

Very nice to have the complete set of dailies and sunday funnies from these years. I graduated from high school around this time, what fun to revisit this strip as it was then! Too bad the sundays cannot be in color, be ready folks this collection is all in Black and White! I have purchased this entire series since they have began; starting with 1950-1952. It's all in B/W, but very well done. I will collect this series to the end, for as we all know, it is coming shortly. This collection has a proud place in my Library, and will to come. No matter what my friends think of me! Rats!

If you love Peanuts this is an absolute must i'm buying this as a present for my wife who is a absolut peanutsenthusiast (as is her father) and both are in absolut bliss when reading this wonderfully made comicbook as i said if u love peanuts or know someone who does this pristinly made comic (actually the whole series) is not only highly recomended but an ABSOLUT MUST

There is not much to say but Peanuts are the best. I have all the older collection sets and always look forward when the next one is released. If you like snoopy you will enjoy this.

piano piano sto completando tutta la collezione, ogni anno compro (o mi regalano) un cofanetto. Preferisco la versione con il cofanetto rispetto ai volumi singoli perchè così prendono meno polvere. Preferisco la versione inglese perchè per me è più bello leggerli non tradotti. Spero di riuscire a completarla.
