Clear Ice Maker Set – Crystal Clear Ice Ball & Cube Molds for Whiskey and Cocktails | Dilution-Free Directional Freezing Design | Easy Removal

I love my new ice sphere maker! It makes perfect, clear spheres that last way longer than regular ice cubes. They look classy, too! The spheres are easy to make, but getting the silicon mold out takes a little patience. It needs to be worked up on each side until maybe 1/2" has been exposed, then it can usually be pulled straight up. To make the spheres, simply fill the container with water until it reaches the bottom of a vertical marker on one of the 4 sides of the container. THIS IS IMPORTANT! Next, just fit the three mold pieces together and very slowly push the mold down into the container. As you get closer to the bottom, alternate pushing from one end to the other, doing it just a little bit each time, until the mold is fully seated. You will see a bit of water come up into the 4 holes on the top, and maybe a little water will flow into the grooves on top. That means it is filled correctly. I use water that runs through my fridge filter rather than tap water, just because it filters out chlorine and other contaminants. Here's an important note: You DO NOT WANT TO LEAVE THE CONTAINER IN THE FREEZER TOO LONG BEFORE HARVESTING THE SPHERES! My spheres take about 30 hours to freeze completely with my freezer at just below 0 degrees. I got busy with life and left the container in the freezer for an additional 2 days, and then the bottom part (shown the photo) became completely frozen. If you time it right, only the top surface of the bottom part will be frozen and just running a little warm water will allow you to break through it and pull the ice chunks out (in the picture, it is only partially frozen on top). If you wait too long, that block will be completely frozen (about 3" thick), and if you want to make more ice balls right away, you will waste a lot of water trying to thaw out the bottom ice block. It will not come out easily if frozen down to the bottom. Cleaning the mold is easy, I just rub it under warm water to get any film off. You can knock off the two nubs on the spheres with a butter knife, but I never bother. I highly recommend getting the quad sphere maker, because it's a lot of trouble to make just two. I keep making them and then store them in zip-loc bags in the freezer. If making them on work days, I recommend prepping the container in the evening, putting it in the freezer the next morning, and then harvesting them the day after when you get home from work. Repeat this cycle as needed, and enjoy your favorite whiskey on the rock!

There is a local distillery in my hometown that makes an awesome Old Fashioned. The drink is "enhanced" with the perfect, round and clear ice ball. I asked the owner how they made these and he turned me on to Glacio. I bought the 4 ball version. It is easy to use and produces PERFECT round clear ice for the special touch when serving fine scotch or whiskey in a glass. I read a review that complained there is no "fill line" in the tank. Not correct. There is a vertical slot near the top of the unit that defines the precise level when adding water. Fill the tank to the bottom of that mark, and you're done. One reviewer stated there were no instructions. Also incorrect. The box has the basic instructions on the side in clear detail. The seller even sent me a follow-up message via Amazon to share tips on best practices using their unit. I've messed around with making clear ice using a small cooler and then cutting my own big cubes from the ice block. That method works and is "free," but it sorta sucks doing so and is messy. Using the Glacio Quad is a snap. No mess. Beautiful end product. Easy as can be. Need I say more? I'll offer up a few negatives for consideration. One is the freezer space required. I have plenty, so this is a non issue for me, but it might be a problem for those with limited freezer space. Of note, this unit is smaller than the cooler I was using for block ice so I am thrilled with that aspect. Another negative is the time it takes to create the ice balls (24 - 36 hours). This is no different than the ice block cooler method, but the yield of cubes from the cooler is much more than 4 balls at a time. That said, it is a mindless task to cycle through the process, and one can store up balls during the week if planning a big weekend sharing these "cool" ice balls with friends. I bought two more as gifts. I really like this product!

Works great! Read the instructions ... follow the directions. Rinse thoroughly after use, the ice is frozen in the bottom. I wish the fill line was white so it was easier to see. You have to work the case out slowly but it produces good cubes. Don't try to rinse the cubes off to make them clearer, they shatter! Great clear cube maker!

I bought the cube version of this item because I already have a very similar item that makes spheres. And it does the job almost as good, but a design change would make this item perfect. This device definitely makes beautiful clear cubes. The benefits to which are a more beautiful, clear and longer lasting piece of ice for your drink. It’s simple to use, thanks to its simple design. But unlike the other clear ice maker I bought, the one from Alchemy Bar Goods, it does not have a little divot at the top for each of the cubes. This allows there to be a nice reservoir of water at the top to fill the molds in. The issue is that as the ice freezes, it condenses and goes down into the molds. As it continues to freeze, it pushes out those impurities that you normally see in the ice to the bottom, out of the mold making the cubes. The issue to the design without the divots is that at times you can be left without enough water at the top to completely fill in your cube. The Alchemy design is better due to avoiding this with the divot. It also makes it a little less likely that you’ll spill some water as you move it into the freezer. Overall, good design, does the trick, but the Alchemy version is ever so slightly superior.

I had to freeze a few hours longer than the directions stated to get fully frozen cubes, but they come out nice a clear.

Die Eiswürfel-Form produziert wunderbare Eiswürfel, die bei entsprechender Wasserreinheit auch kristallklar frieren. Der Prozess dauert natürlich sehr lang, also gut 24h für 2 Würfel, aber für den Heimgebrauch ist das ausreichend, da zumindest ich nicht jeden Tag Eiswürfel benötige und ich somit entspannt im Voraus produzieren kann. Die Form ist stabil, lässt sich gut reinigen und würde ich jedes Mal wieder kaufen. Bin sehr zufrieden damit.

Simply awesome! Does exactly what it says on the box - makes clear ice! Looks beautiful in a whisky or short drink. Larger ice so melts slower and therefore doesn't dilute the drink - great for the whisky drinker! Easy to use although does take up a bit more space in the freezer, very easy getting the ice from the tray even straight out f the freezer, easy to clean and quick to refill. Definitely recommended!!! A+

This makes two very large clear ice cubes. Most ice that you make is not clear, because of the way it freezes. This contraption, which is easy to assembly and fill, freezes in such a way as to get almost every time wonderfully clear ice cubes. Getting them out takes a bit of patience: you just ease the inner section out gradually. It's no bother. So, to use, you place water in the main caddy up to a mark that's on the inside. You then place the two halves of the mould together and lower gently. They fill with water as they go in, and then when fully in some water will likely pop through the hole in the top, all by design. Then transfer to the freezer and leave for 24 hours. It takes time. I then store them in a vacuum bag and make some more. And I have got clear cubes. Fantastic. And they look great in drinks. It doesn’t work. I returned it because it did not work as the description said it would. Very disappointed. On top of that they never gave me my money back after asking for a refund. That said I was going to get back what I paid for the product plus up to $20 for the shipping. I contacted Amazon directly to ask for my money and they never paid for my shipping cost. Terrible service and terrible product.
