Helps a lot with wind noise but still able to hear intercom
I like these earplugs a lot. I’ve always used the foam type but two issues made me try something different; 1 the foam plugs can be time consuming to insert correctly, and 2 they block everything so I can’t hear my helmet speakers. The Alpine earplugs do a pretty good job of cutting wind noise, but still allow me to hear music in the background and make a phone call if necessary. They don’t hurt my ears, are easy to insert and remove, and the center stems don’t stick out and rub against my helmet lining. I use the “tour” type and they work well for me. I did notice I can hear the helmet speakers better in my Shoei helmet than my older Bell Star. The Bell has ton of vents and is not known as a quiet helmet, so no surprise there. I was impressed with the Alpine MotoSafe plugs enough that I ordered a second pair for backup and/or passenger use. I accidentally ordered the “race” type but I haven’t tried them yet to see how different they are. My daughter wore them for several hours on a ride with me and had no complaints. She could still hear her music and talk to me via bluetooth intercom. When I originally bought these, I also ordered a pair of Earos to try at the same time. They seemed to be good quality, and I tried them for a few minutes, but the Alpines just fit and worked better for me, so I returned the Earos. Someone else might have a different experience, everyone’s ears are different. I just rode about 4 hours today with the Alpine tour earplugs, no issues. Bike= 2001 Yamaha FZ1 with stock windscreen, Helmet= Shoei RF-SR Keep in mind these do not block as much sound as properly inserted foam earplugs. For <$20 though, they are worth a try.

Great for distance rides!
I bought these to replace my Loop ear plugs for riding. So far I’ve been beyond impressed for the price point. They seem to stay fully inserted into the ear even when a helmet rubs them. It’s not much of a decibel drop, but the wind cut while still being able to hear my coms is great. I’d recommend these to any rider.

Great earplugs, but removal tabs are delicate.
These do an Excellent job in taming wind noise, and the filter works very well to still be able to hear my Cardo and Sena bluetooth intercom/ music on rides. The only issue I have with these is the little tab for making removal easier breaks off fairly quickly. UPDATE: after posting this review Alpine reached out to me and issued a refund, This impressed me, their customer service and willlingness to ensure customer satisfaction is laudable. these remain as my favorite plugs, even if though have to carry my leatherman tool in my riding jacket pocket to gently grip them for removal after a ride.

Order these today!
Just got these and used them on 1 long ride so far. The ride was just over 100 miles. What an incredible difference these made in noise. They are super comfortable in your ears. No issues while putting on or removing my helmet either! I was able to have conversations at stop lights as well as at little breaks throughout the ride. If you have issues with wind noise and your ears screaming at you after a ride, I recommend these 100%!!! I didn't try to listen to music due to riding with other people. I suspect that that will be just as clear as the conversations though. i wish i would have gotten these sooner! Great product and I HIGHLY recommend!

Amazing Ear Plugs
When I bought my bike I also bought a box of the yellow disposable foam earplugs. Those worked great until I recently upgraded my helmet with an intercom system. I was really disappointed in spending $300 on an intercom system because I could barely hear the music or the turning direction of my phone’s map program. Even when it was turned all the way up, I just couldn’t hear it very well. The music was super tinny also. I thought my bike and the wind noise was just too loud for the intercom that I purchased. I thought I was going to have to return the intercom system and get my money back. But then I came across the Alpine Hearing Protection product and decided to give it a try. WOW….what a difference. I love my helmet intercom system now. The music is full and robust. I can hear all of the instruments and the voices. The directions from the map program comes across crisp and clear now. But the motorcycle itself and wind noise is still kept at a minimum. These earplugs are one of my best motorcycle upgrades yet. Oh… and they are super comfortable. I don’t even know they are there.

Alpine ear plugs were a bust
In 2021, bought the Touring version with the adjustable noise level screw. They stuck out to far so helmet on/off would unseat them from my ears. Event without a helmet, these plugs were inadequate ... foam plugs are so much easier to use and quieter. Evidently mine are an older version because my Amazon order history shows its replaced with one that is a totally different design. Have tried some other brands in past, but I'm going to stick with my Mack's Maximum Protection foam plugs with 33 db nrr for my cross country trips.

They work, but getting them in or out is a problem!
I can't give a one star review because they do work at lessening the buffeting noise inside a full-face helmet, and they are comfortable when inserted. The cons outweigh the pros, though, hence the 2 star review. It is very difficult to get them properly placed without using the (provided) tool. It should never be necessary to keep track of an insertion tool with any earplug. The worst part is that, once completely inserted so the noise reduction is effective, and no matter what side of your ear you place the little removal tab on, it is hell getting these things back out of your ear without some sort of tweezers or tool (I had to use a set of mini-needle nose pliers to reach them every time). That's a no-go, even worse than having to have a tool to put them in. So, as I don't believe these can/should be returned because I put them into my ears and wouldn't want to take the chance someone else might get a set of "pre-worn" ear plugs, I'll have to eat the cost and put them aside for last-resort ear plugs. An expensive lesson, but it is what it is. There are so many better and easier to use options out there. I don't recommend these.

Moderate performance
Just arrived today and I immediately got on the motorcycle for a test. I noticed definite improvement on wind noise and was able to still enjoy music from the helmet sound system. But I still noted the whine of the wind through the fairings on the BMW GS series. To be fair, the BMWs are notorious for this and I cannot expect the ear plugs to solve this. I would rate these as moderate performance - they provided noise reduction for the price.

Amazing product.
I bought these to replace the ones I lost. I have been using these products for a while now 1.5yrs. They reduce wind noise effective and still able to hear imporant noises/sounds on the road e.g. ambulance/police sirens, care horns and other noises on the road. I am able to hear people speak enough to have a conversation with. I highly recommond these. I would buy the pack that come with two types (red and black ear plug).

Regret not buying earlier
First time using the ear plugs so can’t compare with other brands and benefits. I am truly impressed with the wind noise reduction these offers. It doesn’t make you deaf completely so you can hear the surrounding. The best part which made me to write the review is that it let you hear the right nodes of bike exhausts (1260 Multistrada) and eliminate annoying engine nodes. They are comfortable to get it and didn’t create pressure point so far. I just had one small ride with it yet and difference from no earplugs to having one was quite mesmerizing. Not sure how will they hold up on longer rides and if there is anything better our there…for now I am sold to these.

Utilizzando questi tappi ho risolto tutti i miei problemi. Possiedo sia i "Race" rossi, che i "touring" neri. Preferisco i Race.
