Why buy yhe graphically inferior Switch version when the PS4 one is way better looking?

One word. Portability. A lot of people actually would give trade in the graphics not looking the best for a portable version of the game. Aside from graphics though, the game runs pretty smoothly on switch and is a pretty well optimized version of the game. I would go further by saying the switch version of Persona 5 will probably become the "definitive" way to play this game simply because of portability and the switch version coming with all previous DLC. If you don't believe me, look at Persona 4 Golden on PS Vita and it's insane physical copy price. The PC version is much better looking and cheaper overall, yet that price stays really high, it's safe to assume as long as the game runs smoothly enough that most people believe portability > graphics.

Is this a physical copy of the game?

I went to buy Persona 5 last Christmas for both my sister and myself. She really loves the game and the characters and I have wanted to play it on the go since I first purchased a switch and since I first played the game on my Ps3. But to answer the question, yes. In fact, both copies of the game I have bought are indeed physical copies.
