Does this material dry out well enough for continuous repanning?** A: IMO yes it does. The material itself seems to consist of 2 distinct strata: There's quite a bit of small gravel that I'd estimate to be 1/4" and smaller. I used a fine wire mesh colander to pour the material through to separate this gravel and then researched that after panning the rest of it. The 2nd distinct strata is fine dirt that seems to have the consistency of talcum powder...Very fine and the rest is black magnetic sands. I'd estimate that it's pretty close to a 50/50 ratio between the two. There's a lot of fines and flour particles of gold dust so I'd definitely recommend catching your tailings in another pan under the one you're panning from and then re-pan those tailings as I have found a small amount of gold dust that got by my initial panning in the catch pan I used. I was very happy overall with the dirt I got from this seller and ended up with about .2-.3 grams of gold by weight per bag I panned from them. I also found a few garnets and a couple of small chunks of gold bearing quartz in the gravel I went through after panning out the dirt itself so it's definitely worth your while to go through all that gravel after you've panned the soil and black sands. There is some gold in their dirt, and we have enjoyed panning it out with our kids, but they will simply make more by selling it like they do. If they put only .01 oz in every 1 lb. bag, they will still come out ahead. **Q: Is it possible to run this dirt through a small sluice for practice or is it not worth this and should just be panned?** A: Yes of course!
