When tied directly from the steel rings this hammock fits between the mast and forestay of my boat perfectly. It looks like a straight line when someone is not lounging in it. It is not however very wide --i think wide enough. My arms can get in it, and I'm sure it will stretch. All hammocks stretch and it's day one. I've got it at about chest level and when I get in my rear end is about one foot from deck.
