It is valuable for learning Fusion 360. Like all books it could be better and my comments are directed to helping the authors make a good book better.The Fusion 360 program is a fantastic system with free Educational/Hobbyist licensing and reasonable pricing for commercial users.Unfortunately the Fusion 360 documentation is hundreds of short videos produced by Autodesk and dozens of users along with short single purpose notes from the same sources scattered over the internet.Printed documents can be scanned quickly to see if a section of the document applies to the problem I am attempting to solve. With video and internet notes I spend far too much time in Google trying to find the right search keywords, and watching enough of each video to see if it answers my question. This can be half of each 15 minute video. It is a slow process to find answers with video and single topic documentationThis book provides a description of every top level command and it explains some but not all of the options for the command.First the good. The book as it is today is extremely useful. I recommend the book to everyone learning Fusion 360. Future revisions of this book can become the reference manual I have wanted for Fusion 360.The portions of the book which need improvement include discussion of the effects of many of the options in command dialog boxes.For example: Reference Dimensions do not appear in the book. (At least I was unable to find them.) I wanted to find why I sometimes got the option to convert a sketch dimension to a reference dimension but usually don’t. I must be doing something differently without realizing it and I hoped to look it up.The book has a discussion of workspaces and named designs within the workspace. There does not appear to be a note that in the free versions of Fusion 360 only one Workspace is allowed.The book has an index but it is far from as useful as a good index would be.An example:The user of the index must know to look up “Sketch Dimension” in the index since the entry for “Dimension” is ONLY about model dimension. There is no index entry for "Model Dimension". The “Dimension” index entry should at a minimum have "also see Sketch Dimension" and “also see Reference Dimension” entries.I am impressed by the authors post on a discussion board that they will write a chapter on the sheet metal module and make it available to buyers of the book. The sheet metal module did not exist in the Fusion 360 version available when they wrote the book. (I am upgrading +1 star from 4 to 5 for this.) ### ⭐⭐ Not for intermediate or above users *by E***E on Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2018* This book not much more than a brief walkthrough of each of the functions of Fusion 360. It is probably OK for new users who want to become aware of what Fusion 360 does. I was disappointed that it contained little in the way of how to design with and get the most out of Fusion 360. I was looking for a book covering design techniques for more complex objects that would complement the range of excellent videos that already exist on the Autodesk Fusion 360 website. I was hoping it would also have, for example, tips and tricks and traps to watch out for and some trouble shooting advice. But there was almost none of that.
