My hands tend to dry up and get very callousey (is that even a word???) in the winter months and this prevents them from getting worse as well as help me get a better grip of my weights. Love the gels pads!! I purchased a large based on other reviews—I wish that i took to their chart size as a Medium would have been far better. I have a size 8 hand in Ladies and a medium would have been far better. Either way, these gloves have a better grip and more cushion for when you are lifting up weights.
