Zathura (Special Edition)

It was delivered some months ago and I am going to enjoy this for a very long time thanks and it came on time and my experience on here was very good

Packaged perfect for transit. The disc was sliding around inside the box. Came with a couple of scratches not sure if it had those before or if it was caused by coming out of the disc placement. It arrived on time & came in a plastic wrap. I wiped over the disc with dust remover before playing the disc so I knew & skips was an issue with the disc. It played perfectly with no issues. I'm not saying anything about the story so anyone that has never seen it won't be disappointed on enjoying it for what it is. A great piece of story telling. Pleased with the purchase.

Remember that board game! Zathura is on the same principle. The youngest son finds this game in the cellar of their new home. While his father is out meeting with clients he ropes his oldest brother into playing it. His sister who is supposed to be watching them is sleeping upstairs (Kristen Stewart). When the game starts with a shooting meteor blasting holes in the home, they get their sister up who thinks its time to get up any way. While she is getting ready in the bathroom on the next turn she is turned into a frozen sculpture. Every time they take a turn something else goes wrong. The house is now floating in space, a lost astronaut is called back with another turn of the key. It keeps you thoroughly mesmerized. A really cute movie!

I bought this movie after learning about how the physical movie was still being sold and wanted to learn more about how the movie was made via the Documentary included in the Special Features section. I was surprised to learn about how & what went behind the movie's creation and prop design (kudos to Phil Saunders on how he creatively packed as many features as possible that he did into the prop used to represent the board game of Zathura itself.) I remember watching the 1995 "Jumanji" movie with my late mother as well as the 2006 "Zathura" movie in the past (both recorded on VHS tape).

I love this movie...I forgot about a few choice words that were in it but overall a great movie with a great moral. My kids love it and I was happy the DVD was brand new and perfect. It doesn't get better than a family movie night with my favorite kids.

This movie is based on a book by Chris Van Allsburg, who also wrote Jumangi and the Polar Express. It is a wonderful film for the entire family. Two brothers play a game called Zathura and wind up with their house in outer space, fighting aliens, a defective robot and rescuing an astronaut. It is funny and heart warming. Great adventure movie for kids.

First, if you're reading this, please don't compare this to Jumanjii or however you spell it. We did not like that movie. That movie scared my kids. It wasn't even a 'good' movie.Judge this for its own merits. Younger kids might find it intense, on the other hand, I've seen the garbage 'parents' let their young children watch, so...It's the story of two brothers who end up on a space adventure. Yes it's a feel good movie with a happy ending, which I like because there aren't too many of those left out there.It's a novelty movie, fun graphics for what I would consider to be a low-budget film, and even some humour.It's never going to be a classic, but for $6, you can't go wrong here.

My 5-year old daughter saw the trailer for this movie on another DVD and said she wanted to watch it. Well...she's watched it pretty much every day since we purchased it a couple of weeks ago. Great action and special effects mixed with humor make this an enjoyable movie for ALL. The maturing relationship of the two young brothers in the movie is special and the extra features showing how the movie was made are great as well. There may be a handful of offensive words during the movie with the worst being d#@k I believe. Also, the zorgon creatures are scary looking so take care if you have a child sensitive to those kinds of things. However, if you have brothers/sons in the 5+ year age range, this is a GREAT movie and one that the whole family can watch and enjoy.

Perfect condition. Brand new in the wrapping.

I bought the Zathura dvd for my 3 year old grandson as he saw this film on the television and liked the film. I ordered the dvd, not thinking for a moment that because the Zathura dvd is an American import, the dvd will not play on either a dvd player or laptop in the uk.Needless to say i had a very dissapointed grand child. Save your money as dont find out like i did the dvd is useless in the uk. I think these companies selling these imported region dvd films ought to not stock them as i and may more people are throwing there money away. Not just throwing hard earned mone away , but making the company responsible for selling the unplayable dvd films rich in the process. I would like Amazon uk to ban imported films that you cannot watch in the uk.
