I received it in some really good condition freshly printed pages smooth turns of pages no tampering occured overall got it in good and great condition!

The book uses violence perfectly. The charectors are great and loved reading it.

Book was delivered in great condition but better read atleast one page of this book before buying because the authors style of writing is rather unique and off putting to some people . But I adjusted to his style and now love reading the book .

After playing the video game Red Dead Redemption 2, I came across the book Blood Meridian in various subreddits as it has a few references in the game. I was intrigued so I bought the book without a second thought. But be warned. The story is vivid in it's description of brutality and bloodshed. So, unless you can't stomach a little bit of blood and gore, I'm afraid this won't be your cup of tea. Also, the author Cormac McCarthy is known for his polysyndetic usage of "and", and he also doesn't use quotations in dialogues. So, while the prose is still beautiful to read it may be difficult for some. Concerning the book, the Picador Collection paperback is probably the most affordable version available for the Indian subcontinent and on Amazon. The book was delivered to me in perfect condition without so much as a dent.

This isn't a review of the content of the book rather the quality of the service, that being said, if you want to read the book go for it, you might not enjoy or you might enjoy it, its all subjective so there's no point pondering. I bought the book through U-read, I usually find their service to be better but this time around, I was utterly disappointed, the book was dirty it bent at the corners and the delivery bag had red stains on it.

First of all: wow. I didn't have high expectations having read 'The Road' (which I didn't particularly enjoy) and some of the less favourable reviews but I found myself very quickly immersed into this book. I can understand some of the complaints; the narrative is meandering; we never really get to know any character in depth, not even the monstrous judge who is the most often described. I'm not sure if the lack of punctuation is an affectation, laziness or intended as a literary device but I like speech marks, I could have done with a few more well placed commas and what's wrong with semi colons? That said, my positive and very personal reflections on completing it are: that the prose was stunning; poetic in parts. I was dragged through an unforgiving landscape from one atrocity to another during this violent period of American history, always a spectator, never part of the mercenaries band, often uncomfortable but still, anxious to keep following wherever I was led and tapping the next page. The beautiful, evocative prose carried it. At the end, I am still not sure what I read. I can guess what happened to the boy turned man during the course of events at the conclusion but I can't claim to understand the motives or his strange relationship with the Judge. Who is the Judge? Is he a metaphor or the devil incarnate? I am still asking myself these and other questions and will continue to do so for a while I suspect. So, for me, both a disconcerting and a truly memorable read and one I would cautiously recommend. It depends what you want to get out of a novel. Good kindle copy.
