FEITON 300A Battery Disconnect Switch with Faceplate, 12-48V

Manufactured well, excellent value, perfect part

Went with this switch for its heavy duty and 300 amp rating. Ran two 2 gauge battery leads from the block on my 1973 F250, through the firewall and mounted it under the dash on a bracket I made. Then ran the return lead to the negative post on the battery. I had a disconnect before at the battery and that solved my problem of my battery being dead every time I needed to use my truck (once every few months); however I would hate having to get out of the truck, pop and lift the heavy hood, flip the lever and then close the hood. Not only was it a pain but anyone paying attention could figure out that I was disconnecting the battery, eliminating it as a security feature. Now I just jump in, flip the switch and start it up with no one the wiser that if they are going to try and steal my truck they will have to spend more time figuring out why it won’t start.

Damn good IMHO. I not an electronics guru and hell to be honest Im not a person to come asking electronic question but it has worked well for my use. If you need it buy it.

I used it on a wagon mower. It was easy to install and works really well.

The 300A Isolator Switch is considerably more affordable than a particular checkered-flag faceplate brand switch. The switch, though built well, has more 'play' in either the On or Off position. I will keep the switch fo r a near-future project. Anyone looking for a tightnear-perfect switch (i.e., less 'play'), may appreciate the checkered-flag faceplate brand switch...albeit for almost twice the cost.

Item is as described a lot larger than I thought but does the job

The rotary knob feels flimsy and loose when twisting. It fails to fully cut power at the OFF gear, battery still suffers parasitic drain. The matched faceplate fits awkwardly and cannot be fixed steadily on the panel.
