The longest tapes I have done are 90 minute ones from a Hi8 camera. I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to do 2 or 3 hour tapes but cannot say for sure.

Will this record 4:3 footage in 4:3 or will it stretch it?

As far as I'm aware, you can set the ratio before capture - but it also seems to capture "As is - 4:3" if that is the original recording aspect.

Can it transfer vhs tapes that are 3 or 4 hours long

Whilst I haven't tried 3-4 hour long tapes I don't see why it wouldn't work for that duration. The documentation claims it will record up to 1 hour, or if you want longer recordings contact the manufacturer for a software update. The one I bought recently recorded a continuous Video8 source of almost 2 hours with no issues with no software update, so I'm assuming the new firmware is installed on newer devices. If you experience any issue you can always start and stop the VHS source and recorder after say 90 minutes which would create two recordings. You can certainly record everything you need with this device.

Can i transfer my s-vhs camcorder tapes via this device

Yes, so long as you have s-video output from your player s-video in - and can be setup to transfer s-video simply in the menu Jools
