Review: Versatile magic arm, useful for most film kits - There are more expensive options out there, but this CAMVATE 11" magic arm is well made of metal, and holds firm when tightened. A very useful product for any film kit that is flexible and versatile, allowing mounting camera to field monitor, or microphones or small lights. Can also be used to hold other gear. Recommended. Have only used it a couple times though, so cant speak to longevity. I see nothing to indicate it will fail early as it is good quality.

There are more expensive options out there, but this CAMVATE 11" magic arm is well made of metal, and holds firm when tightened. A very useful product for any film kit that is flexible and versatile, allowing mounting camera to field monitor, or microphones or small lights. Can also be used to hold other gear. Recommended. Have only used it a couple times though, so cant speak to longevity. I see nothing to indicate it will fail early as it is good quality.

Sturdy unit that appears well built. I like the large twist knob to tighten the arms. One complaint is that I didn't realize the red lever knob needs to tighten to also tighten the ball joints that attach to the hot shoe and monitor. One has to position the monitor where you wish and then tighten the red knob to hold everything in place. I almost sent this back. There are more simple mounts. Advantage here is the monitor can be positioned in an almost unlimited number of ways depending on the needs.
