This house had a very neglected pond in the back yard with 5 goldfish in it. It was cooler, so the pond water was clear, but was obviously in need of some attention as the bottom was covered with muck. A few weeks after we moved, the weather got warmer and the pond water started to turn green. The existing filter equipment was not in working condition, so I decided to buy this filter while I try to get the external filter equipment working. By the time the filter arrived, the water was completely green and I couldn't even see the fish anymore. I put this filter together, added the little fountain and plunked it into the water. At first, I was cleaning the filter out 2x per day. It was working! I started to be able to see the fish once again, instead of orange blurs. Two weeks of 24 hour filtering resulted in much clearer water. Now we are at 1 month with daily cleaning and the water is completely clear and I can see that my 5 goldfish have turned into 6!! I definitely recommend this filter for your pond. It is easy to clean, easy to use and worked better than I had expected. I have zero experience with outdoor decorative ponds, but this little filter did its job and cleared the completely murky water within a few weeks. I have zero experience with outdoor decorative ponds, but this little filter did its job and cleared the completely murky water within a few weeks. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works *by T***S on February 21, 2026* Nice pump and easy to clean. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great success! *by E***Y on August 6, 2023* My 1800 gallon pond has biofalls and I seed the pond with beneficial bacteria often but when the air temps are above 90F, the clouds of green single-cell algae thrive, and water clarity suffers (ie visibility drops to one inch). So added this 900 with UV lamp as a additonal filter and aerator. Worked great. Within one week, pond clarity is crystal clear and visibility is all the way to the bottom. Was easy to set up and I like that the pump/filter is totally submersible in the pond (expect for the rain shower snorkel). In addition to filtraron, adds aeration to pond as well. The LED light at night is a nice feature. I wish there was as easy indicator to quickly show that the UV light is functioning. It is possible to check such, but takes a small amount of effort.
