Soft Close Lid Support Hinges

I bought this hinge as a safety measure for a child's toy box I made and it works brilliantly. When raised the hinge locks in place but not rigidly. A small amount of pressure releases it and allows the lid to lower itself quite slowly and gently. My only criticism is that the instructions are totally baffling but a QR code will lead you to a You Tube video on how to use the template provided. Using the template is very easy so in the end it wasn't an issue. The lid on this box is substantial but one hinge was sufficient. I can't attest to the longevity as I've only just made this (Nov 2022) but so far I'm more than happy with it.

I was worried this product would be difficult to install, and the included instructions make it look complicated. However there's as template in the box which made it super easy. The product works really well, although the listing could be much clearer about how to choose the correct size dampers. I originally bought a set that was too small for my lid. Douper customer services couldn't have been more helpful though, taking my measurements and lid weight and sending me the correct replacement. 5 stars for customer service! The dampers work really well on my very heavy solid oak toy box lid. The lid closes gently even from vertical, and seems to slow down a bit more just before it closes. I don't have worries about trapped fingers any more. To sum up, a great product and if you're not sure of the size you need, I would recommend contacting the seller before you buy.

Bought as one-for one replacements for hinges which had lasted 25 years of robust use on pull down desk, suffering metal fractures at lower hinge/mount marriage. Fortunately they fitted exactly which saved refitting or adjusting mounting brackets, but prospective buyers may wish to be aware of the potential fracture weakness in the cast metal footing.

Simply don't understand the poor reviews, particularly the one claiming gas struts worked better. I started with gas struts which made the lid close slowly, but then slammed shut, so the struts had to come out. The template provided with the kit made the installation quite easy, remembering to line up to the pivot point of the lid and not just the top corner of the box. As my lid did not open to 105 degrees, the adjusting screw was useful to set the limit of travel. The lid is quite heavy, but the mechanism works perfectly with a slow descent right to the point of being fully closed. No more trapped fingers.

Fitting is straight forward. The slow-close works well and the lid will stay open until you choose to close it. I fitted onto a toy chest to avoid my grandson’s fingers being squashed and they do the job superbly. I have had them in place for over a year with no loss of strength and would highly recommend them to the point where I have repurchased them for another box.

Received an item that was supplied by MORINBO and not Douper like suggested. The item was also manufactured incorrectly that meant the lid hinge was locked in place (see picture).

Ich habe sie zurück geschickt. Die Anleitung ist nur auf Englisch und dazu habe ich es einfach nicht hinbekommen es richtig zu verbauen.

le produit est de qualité, le seul hic, important, c'est pour le montage, les explications ne sont pas en français, pas de traduction, tout en anglais dommage mais on est arrivé à l'utiliser quand même

Prese in sostituzione di quelle che già avevo, sono lo stesso modello. Buona fattura, sono le originali, arrivate nei tempi stabiliti (Amazon non si smentisce mai). Le vecchie sono durate 10 anni e queste essendo uguali anche nei materiali immagino faranno il loro lavoro. Unico appunto il prezzo, nel corso del tempo oscilla di parecchio, non so se è dovuto ad un errore o ad una scelta commerciale
