After trying for the longest time to capture images in my spotting scope with my cell phone, I discovered this item. Having never owned another before, I relied on reviews as well as quality of manufacturer. This unit uses the right amount of plastic but also uses aluminum for strength and lightness. Sets up quickly but if you remove it to look into the scope, you have to start all over again to set it back up. Practice will quicken the set up time. When you get an image on your phone, you can zoom in and get an even bigger image. Sandhill cranes at 400 yards fill the lens. No, when zooming in, your images will not be crystal clear but when you want to show off that big buck that you have been seeing in your food plots, your buddies will clearly see the rack and the size of the deer. I do have one suggestion. If you have a cell phone that requires you to touch the screen to take the photo, as most do, even with the spotting scope mounted fairly securely, the touching of the screen can cause the phone and tripod to move very subtly causing a blurred image. I bought a very cheap selfie stick and use the Bluetooth function to activate the camera. This allowed for much clearer images is I did not have to touch the phone to activate the shutter.
