While in trade school many decades ago, they taught us to use cooling for chisels and drill bits, I did dry drilling many times throughout the years, it works; however, cooling will extend the life of the drill bit for sure. One online resource said the following: If you don't cool, the material will harden and the drilling will get tougher. With special cutting oil, you cool both the material and the drill. This makes the drilling faster and more effective. The drill bits also last longer, because they stay sharp. Hope that this answers your question.

Good bits, poor quality box.

Bit’s are sharp and appear to hold an edge; I have only used two Bits out of the index and both worked well. Index box is thin and deforms easily, latch is not trustworthy. Good bits, poor quality box.

Pretty solid an durable

Well i broke one bit, but for the money they're pretty solid considering im going through cold rolled steel thats a 1/4" thick. Also, if youre going through any solid metal such as steel, dip the bits in oil at the tip to help with the heat
