Mega Man 3: Return of Dr. Wily [Flynn, Ian, Bates, Ben] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Mega Man 3: Return of Dr. Wily Review: Mega Man goes through the gaunthlet - Once again we find ourselves visiting the world of our favorite robot hero (no, not Astro Boy) Mega Man! This volume finds us with Mega Man's greatest challenge yet and I couldn't be happier about that. This is the story I was waiting for in volumes 1 and 2 and I can see the potential for the series more clearly than ever. The story is a take on the plot for Mega Man 2 adding a nice twist in the end (which I won't spoil here). Basically Wily creates new robot masters himself who unlike the previous set are made only to destroy our hero. Quick Man is given a prominent role in this arc becoming akin to the Joker to Mega Man's Batman with baiting and toying with the Blue Bomber whenever he can. Mega Man gets really trashed in this arc and it puts any fears of a lack of serious threat to rest. This leads me to Ian Flynn's writing. It is top notch. Mega Man's personality is being addressed well in the series overall and this is no exception. We get to see Mega Man's emotions as he tries to adjust to this new role thrust on him (from a reluctant hero, to a power mad jerk hero, to a lone wolf) and each step makes sense. This volume is easily the darkest of the 3 so far and the fact you can tell Mega Man's emotion as they change throughout. Yes, it's not as nuanced as some of the greater comic works out there but for a all-age book this is good. An especial dark scene (for this series) takes place at one point near the end of the 3rd act that actually made me take a step back. If you're that attached to a character and his personality that a sudden change does that then the writers doing a good job. This is balanced by the final act with Mega Man's buddies entering the scene and adding much needed humor to the story. Did I mention I love in-fight banter? By the way, my apologizes for the volume 2 review. The quote I used was in this volume. That's what I get for reviewing 3 volumes at once. To the art! I still missing Spaz but Ben Bates does a stellar job of filling in his shoes. The action is clear and the scenes of Mega Man's gradually weakening are nicely rendered. The fourth volume of this terrific series is already out (which I have already ordered) and I hope Ian and friends can keep up the good work. This one's a keeper. Review: Ian Flynn's Best Mega Man collection yet! - Ian Flynn continues to bring you his adaptation of the classic video game series Mega Man! In this third volume, Ian dives into the amazing NES game that is Mega Man 2! I highly recommend this book as well as the the other Mega Man volumes in this series. This collects comic issues 9-12, and contains a ton of extras like character bios, scripts, alternate covers, mini-comics, and more! Join your favorites Mega Man, Wood Man, Metal Man, Quick Man, Roll, Dr. Wily and many more familiar faces with the best entry yet!

The Saga Continues
This entire series is gripping me as much as I thought it would, and this didn't disappoint. Smart writing, action, and characters...it all falls into place really nicely here. While I will say the series gets better as it goes on, this was still an awesome saga in the series, and certainly a cool interpretation of the plot of Megaman 2.

Mega Blast!
The story is very intriguing and gears towards its own universe slowly while retaining its "core" elements. These stories have action, morals, bonds and drama which all fit perfectly in a such a series that holds so much to reality and the imagination.

THE BEST OF ALL MEGA MAN
The best of all the Mega Man. I have them all (except gn #9 'cause that has not come out yet), and this one, and gn #7, are the best Mega Mans ever. The characters have such flaring personalities, especially Quick Man (AKA my favorite character). READ IT.

A fun read
My kids and I have enjoyed taking turns reading the Mega Man comic collections. They seem to improve with each release. It would be nice to see a bit deeper plot and less predictability. The 4th book definitely moves the series more in this direction.

Used with goodwill sticker still attached
I didn’t realize the product would come used. I don’t believe it said this in the listing. This would be less of a big deal if the goodwill sticker on the back (which had a pricetag of $1.91 - way less than I paid - classy) came off cleanly, which it didn’t. Fortunately I fixed it up with goo gone. Disappointed in the quality of the received book.

This arrived on-time and in excellent condition. This was a gift for my bro, along with volume two, and he was extremely happy with it. I can't speak for the content for myself, but according to him it is really enjoyable and well-written. Would recommend definitely.

J'adore tout ce qui touche MegaMan. Le créateur Inafune ayant quitté Capcom, cette série sait combler mon manque de MegaMan
