## Description

OCTOPUS Motherboard Features: 1. Uses a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M4 series STM32F446ZET6 main control chip with a core frequency of 180MHz. 2. Interfaces with a Raspberry Pi using emulated serial over USB or direct UART to any of the serial ports on the board. 3. Supports up to 4 hotend heaters. 4. Provides separate power inputs for motors, bed heating and logic/fans/hotends. 5. Supports 12V or 24V supply inputs (12V only supported on motor and bed. Logic must be > 14.1V) with built in 12V (4A), 5V (8A) and 3.3V (1A) regulators to provide rails for peripheral use. 6. Up to 6 PWM fans and 2 always-on fans with the ability to individually select the voltage rail that will drive each fan. Select from Vin, 12V or 5V. 7. Flyback protection on PWM fan ports – Many people find that their fan ports become damaged after some time when using larger fans. This is because of the inductance in the fan coils. The octopus includes flyback protection on each fan port which will protect the FETs from damage caused by turning the fans on and off. 8. Includes USB-C interface which supports an emulated serial port that allows printing via USB. 9. Includes a bootloader that allows firmware upgrades via the SD card. This offers a simple, efficient, and convenient way to update the firmware. 10. Uses high-performance MOSFETs to increase heating efficiency while also reducing heat generation on the motherboard. 11. Supports “print from SD card” and “print via USB OTG” using the integrated USB-A port. 12. Provides two stepper outputs, connected in parallel, to the Z driver allowing for a parallel, dual Z axis drive.WiFi interface for ESP8266 based modules. 13. Supports firmware update via DFU mode. This is where the firmware is sent to the board directly from the PC and does not require a bootloader however this method is not recommended for novice users as discussed later in this document. 14. Includes an onboard, 32K EEPROM (AT24C32). 15. Supports CAN BUS using a 6P6C RJ11 interface, which offers the board the ability to interface with future expansion modules. 16. Supports StallGuard for sensorless homing with TMC drivers 17. Provides an SPI expansion port which can connect the SPI-based expansion modules such as MAX31865 module. 18. Provides an I2C expansion port for peripherals that communicate using that protocol.

Review: Amazing board - Used as a massive major huge upgrade for my sidewinder X2. Lots of motor, fan and sensor i/o make this the perfect board. Marlin 2 firmware compiled for it without any issues (once you get your toolchain all set up). Now running independant Z axis, inductive sensors on x,y and z and I'm about to re-add the filament runout sensor, and some RGB LEDs. Perfect for the DIYer.

- CAN BUS: BIGTREETECH Octopus V1.1 32bit control board supports CAN Bus connectivity using an ethernet connector. This CAN Bus connection allows to expand control board with other expansion boards very easily.
- 6 PWM Fans Plus 2: The Octopus V1.1 Mainboard offers up to 6 controllable PWM fans and additional 2 without control with the possibility of voltage selection from 5V, 12V or 24V. The BTT Octopus also has 8 sockets for drivers, making it an ideal electronics for demanding machines.
- Supports Klipper/Marlin: BIGTREETECH Direct Octopus V1.1 32bit control board compatible with BTT Pi V1.2/Pi 2, supports running Klipper and Marlin, supports firmware update by USB (recommended) and DFU mode(advanced users). Updating via DFU mode is to send firmware to the board directly from PC with no need for bootloader, which is not recommended for novice users.
- Type C powers the MCU: Plug the jumper cap into the 5V USB power supply port of the motherboard. You can use the Type C interface to power the motherboard, which makes it easier for the computer to program firmware. If the jumper cap is pulled out, the switching power supply must be turned on when the motherboard is connected to the PC.
- Multifunctional interface: BTT Octopus V1.1 control board support Eddy V1.0, BLTOUCH, Microprobe auto bed leveling sensor, SFS V2.0 smart filament runout, power loss detection, CEB V1.0, SKSM V1.0, automatic power down. Display support TFT35 E3 V3.0.1/TFT35 V3.0/TFT50/70. When running Klipper touch mode, please choose HDMI5 V1.2 Touchscreen.

Used as a massive major huge upgrade for my sidewinder X2. Lots of motor, fan and sensor i/o make this the perfect board. Marlin 2 firmware compiled for it without any issues (once you get your toolchain all set up). Now running independant Z axis, inductive sensors on x,y and z and I'm about to re-add the filament runout sensor, and some RGB LEDs. Perfect for the DIYer.

If you want a fully loaded motherboard for your 3D printer, this is it. Its impressive how many ports and features on the board. Follow the guides online, or find some useful Github repositories and youll be up and running in no time. I personally use it in my Voron 2.4, works great and has supported all the extras i've added.
