All parallel capable Champion inverters of 2,800 watts and higher are compatible through this parallel kit. **Q: i am having a problem with the kit plugs that go into the generator. they are wiggling out. is this typical? did i get a bad one? when running in** A: We have been through a couple of these. I hope your generator is under warranty; if not, take them out immediately and return this item. The first one we purchased -- the plugs were very lose and kept losing power. Very bad on our equipment too. We returned it and the second one arrived with one plug fitting "very" tight and one was lose. We needed to use it for an important Event that night. Under bad judgement (though our generator was insured) we used that kit. The generators were not even on for an hour and the power starting surging on our equipment. One of our employees, went out to see if an indicator light was on or if the plug had come partially out. Not even, the plug that fit too tight -- had melting inside our generator. The next morning when it was cooled down and okay to touch. We tried to take it out and the plug's end, was stuck (Melted) inside of our generator. We could have lost a huge account because of the Champion Parallel Kit. Luckily, we put our older Honda Inverter in the back of the truck. Just in case that kit malfunctioned. What are the odds?!?! Two back to back?!?! I don't know... I know we researched this item and felt comfortable with the first purchase. But I wouldn't get near one again, even if it meant no power for any Event!! Our equipment cost way too much -- to risk that. **Q: If i connect 2 8000 watt generators. What can the maximum watt output i can acheive?** A: Inverter Generator vs Direct drive Generators: 1. Direct drive or traditional generators produce electricity when the engine spins the alternator at 3600 RPM, a necessity to produce an AC type current. 2. Inverter Generators use the same technology as do traditional generator but add an inverter to produce the AC current. Therefore these generators can run at various rpm and not affect the Cycles per minute necessary for an AC current. Note: Some inverters are a modified sine wave and only switch the DC back and forth at a certain Hertz, usually 60Hz. Others, the more expensive ones have a true sine wave and produce a current that goes for 0-120Hz. These inverters tend to run certain electronic equipment better and do not damage them in the long term. 3. Finally, you cannot connect a traditional generator to another because it will not have the exact same frequency as the other due to the mechanical nature of its engine. However the inverters will communicate via frequency and sync with each other and produce usable electricity with Generator A and Generator B adding their running and peak watts together at the parellel output. **Q: Using this to parallel a 200961 2500w and 100263 3400w, will they output 5900 watts or 5000 watts?** A: Either generator will only put out 2500 or 3400 for a very very short time under ideal conditions.
