Impressed. I was prepared to deal with some serious white cast given such a high mineral content. But this stuff rubs in almost undetectable after 30 seconds. Made me question if it would really be that effective. Been out a few times surfing mid day, full blast sun on the ocean for 2 hours, salt water washing machine....this stuff held on and did its job. Zero burn, zero redness or anything. This is my new go-to for intense sun exposure in active conditions. Great stuff!

I've spent a lot of time in the sun and used a lot of different sunscreens over the years (I'm 47). Some have been chemical-based, some physical (like mineral and zinc oxide), some reef-safe, and some sport sunscreens (for beach volleyball and such), some mainstream/big brand, and some from local and indie companies (including Korean and Australian brands). Thrive is probably my favorite sunscreen ever. It's pricey but worth it. Effective and so luxurious on my skin. It has a nice mild smell too. Gave me peace of mind while vacationing and snorkeling in Cozumel recently. Not a single sunburn in 8 days. It's pricey for sunscreen but I've paid way more for a luxury body oil and this sunscreen makes my skin feel like I'm using an expensive body oil. Highly recommend.

Great product - goes on clear and does not leave as much of a gritty residue like many other mineral-based suncreens. Smells nice too.

I have tried a dozen or more reef-safe sunscreens, and I think this is one of the best. Yes, it looks white starting out, but it only takes a little bit at a time, and with a little patience and rubbing, it goes away. And then it lasts pretty much all day! I never felt I had to re-apply other than the stuff I use on my face (I didn't use this on my face). Now, I do try to sit in the shade about half the time, and I don't swim a whole lot, so I'm not wiping my skin with a towel all day. I took off a star because it may stay on TOO well--I noticed even after showering that it was likely still on my skin, but for a week's vacation, I liked it a lot. I should note that I have white skin (Swedish/Scottish). It does tan eventually but can also burn, but I'm not one of those really white-white girls who immediately burn if they walk outside. I would like especially to thank the Black women who reviewed this product--I bought it because several said the white casting wasn't too bad. I figured it they could take it, so could I!

I have eczema and the sun causes flare ups. I use a lot of sunscreen when outside, biggest issue I have is eyes burning from sunblock. I have gone through a lot of high-end sunscreens. I thought tallow was the ticket but after using for about a year it started burning my eyes, maybe they changed the formula or its just me. Found Thrive and it's the best for me so far for eye burn and goes on great, greasy at first and a bit of white cast but once dry its no longer greasy, and no white cast.

It works very well, but does require you to reapply every few hours. It doesn't leave a white cast on your skin, which is nice and it's spreads on easily. I used this in Hawaii and avoided any major sunburns.

1st time using this brand. I am very pleased with it. Needed a reef safe sunscreen for vacation in Central America - 90+ degrees. Good coverage. I did not burn but got a slight tan. Does not leave a white tint on skin. Easy to smooth into skin. Smells slightly citrusy and my husband and I like the smell, and leaves my skin feeling very soft, but not greasy. It did not wear off easily at the beach or pool. This size lasted a week for 2 people applying liberally at least once daily with a little left over (maybe 2 more applications.) I will purchase this again.

I really wanted to love this product but it dried out my skin. A few days after I began using it I noticed my the skin on my arms was tight and itchy. I thought perhaps it was a change of weather that might have caused the sudden dryness but it continued. I stopped using the sunscreen and my skin has returned to normal. It's a pity because this is a pricey sunscreen with good ingredients. I'll finish using it along with extra body oil or moisturiser but won't buy it again.
