I also got some laughs from this. Wish they had a book like this in my 20’s. Review: Perfect Gift - I would not consider myself a book reader. I read if I have to. However, I couldn't put this book down, so I took it to work with me and had it at my desk to look at in-between treating patients. This book works out perfectly as a pick up and put down book because you can read one secret, laugh, ponder, and feel really inspired then...da da da da your off to concur the world! One of my 20something coworkers came up to me and reported that she couldn't help but look through it. She had seen secret #18 "A date is a date is a date is a..." "A date is not a marriage proposal. It is a romantic comedy. It's not a death sentence." that hit home with her in a funny yet profound way and she said "I gotta buy this book!" I took this book to a 4th of July party and some of my 20something in-laws were there. I proceeded to share with them some of my favorite secrets like #10 "You grow into growing up. (Part One)" "29 signs your...gasp...and adult" and they laughed, and asked me to read more. This book is a good way to "spark dialogue" between your peers. You can then, as the author suggests, "share ideas, questions, struggles, wins, and looses with like-minded 20somethings." This book has been especially helpful to me (a 32 year old) because it has debunked a lie that I have been fed my entire life. The lie that if life hasn't worked out the EXACT way I thought it was "suppose to" then there must be something wrong with YOU. But now I know secret #19 "Our plans aren't the problem. Our timeline is." and #6 "Life will never feel like it is "suppose to" " because, as the author says," "suppose to" is the stealer of peace and productivity. It's the leading cause of Obsessive Comparison Disorder with everyone who "has it better". No one has it all figured out...if we're always living like we're "suppose to", we're never going to truly live." This book is perfect as a graduation present, wedding present, baby shower gift, birthday present, anytime gift...whatever just give it to someone! They will laugh and enjoy it...guaranteed!

We're all in the same boat. Not so secret secrets that provide encouragement.
So I'm officially in the mid-late twenties age group and I felt like i was going through a quarter-life crisis, but like not really in crisis. Just kinda stuck. Especially after following the "normal" societal trajectory of life by going to school, getting a degree, getting a job, getting a house etc... Now, I'm like what's next?. After skimming through search results on amazon and google I stumbled upon this book and figured I better buy it quick since this decade of my life is nearly over. I will say the secrets aren't so secret, but really just to encourage people to show that we're all going to experience somethings and we aren't alone in it. We're going to be lost, going to be afraid, going to make decisions that seem good at first but turn out to be bad ideas. All to learn valuable lessons and grown into a smarter and stronger person. The sprinkles of religious faith was refreshing and I don't think it was over bearing or anything. It read kinda like a series of blog posts. Over all, this book was perfect for me and this season of my life. Hopefully everyone is able to take a little something from it.

I bought this book originally because it sounded great and then it kind of sat on my shelf, staring at me, wondering if I was every going to actually read it. Until I finally picked it up on a whim to bring with me on a beach day in August and then I got really into it, however with the busyness of life I kind of forgot about it again until most recently. So I re-started it and once I did, I couldn't put it down. A few of my friends were like oh a list of something isn't a book and you know what maybe they are right but this book did change me for the better. It inspired me to find a passion in life, to make changes and be a better person. It also encouraged me to take small risks and to motivate me to figure out what I'm doing with my life. It helped me through some pretty tough times and I am glad that it made me feel less alone in all the confusion and roller coaster ride my twenties really are. The author, Paul Angone, is a spectacular writer and from him sharing a piece of his story with us readers made the book feel more personal and he is a truly great guy who is only looking to help others with his advice. I honestly do recommend this book to anyone in their twenties who is going through a rough patch because lets face it, who really knows what they are supposed to, who to be or what their life actually means after graduating or getting ready to. Life is confusing and I am glad that I picked up this book because overall it did help. I even gave it to one of my friends as a suggestive read for him and he wound up loving it as well even though he is half way through it!

I don't normally write reviews; in fact, this is the first review I'm writing on Amazon. But, Paul Angone deserves a lot of recognition for this wonderful creation! The book is split up into 101 segments detailing the ins, outs and secrets of how to master the first, tentative steps into adulthood. Unlike the majority of self-help books aimed at young people, Paul Angone manages to deliver the most relevant, up-to-date and relatable advice through his stories and accounts, without a hint of self-righteousness or patronising tone. I'm 19 years old, and I know what it feels like to be spoken down to by elders. Paul Angone assumes the role of an older brother or your favourite aunty, educating their juniors about the treacherous journeys that may or may not await them, all supported through his own experiences. After the first few flicks of pages, I think every reader will get a true sense of how candid, likeable and funny the author is! I have never met the author, but I can relate to all of his stories, as if I knew him personally. Each of the 101 Secrets range from a few lines to a few pages; much like opening a Christmas present,or exploring a new subject, one looks forward to what they're going to get. Much of the appeal from this book stems from the fact that every single secret has been meaningfully crafted to deliver the most poignant and life-smart doses of wisdom without waffling. Paul Angone doesn't try to manipulate the reader through any persuasive words or merely superficial, and empty 'life quotes', like that seen of motivational speakers trying their hand at writing. 101 Secrets is not like that. He tells it like it is. I would highly recommend reading this book. If you have read this review and decide not to get this book, you would be missing out on a great deal of wisdom and laughs that is sure to foster enlightenment about the best way to dominate the adult year; and everything that you can achieve through making the right decisions in what is arguably the most constructive decade of our lives.

I bought this book for my daughter and ended up reading it myself as well. I noticed that she flagged chapters that must have been meaningful for her in her current young adulthood. I equally enjoyed it and found it was a great easy reminder that can support anyone at various times of their adulthood. The book may not relate to all scenarios in your life at this time but I think that as you navigate adulthood that at some point it may. I found it relatable and I'm in my 40's. Avery adult needs an outside source at times for support and reminders. Overall I think it helped and the stories and chapters were short, easy to read and relevant.
