Great way to give gifts to people. And also a great way to be scammed. Don't give these cards as payment unless you physically know them

This Apple gift card does exactly what it says on the tin. It was easy to buy and straightforward to redeem with no fuss at all. The email delivery came quickly and the instructions were clear, so there was no guessing about how to add the balance to an Apple account. For app purchases, it worked perfectly. Overall, very simple and exactly what I needed.

I sent a card as a gift to a friend. He received the email fairly quickly. When he clicked within the email to get the card he was taken to another Amazon partner site that showed a clickable code. Clicking the code returned a site error page at Apple. After a few attempts he tried redeeming the code within the Apple app store, but this told him the code had already been used. I spoke to Amazon Customer Support via chat who passed me around and said the card had been delivered (obviously or he wouldn't have been able to use it at all) and that it had not yet been redeemed. At this point I was told there was nothing they could do, I needed to speak to Apple and cut me off! Amazon don't give an invoice for this or a gift card serial number. Now I have to wait for up to 3 days for Apple to investigate and try to get a refund. I'm on a limited disability income and cannot afford to have this amount held in limbo. I've had to make other arrangements for my friend. Lessons learned: 1) Don't buy Apple Gift Cards from Amazon! 2) Customer Support couldn't care less - not my problem After equally poor service from Apple and waiting 7 days, they said they had NO RECORDS regarding the card serial number I prised from Amazon Customer services, but which isn't in the Order Details or contained in the delivering email. Apple told me they could not refund me because I did not buy the card from them. They said Amazon must refund me. Contacted Amazon again and two levels of staff said they couldn't. Registered formal complaint and escalation. I had tried another card the day after the first one which also failed. Now I am £200 down. One I then got from Argos worked perfectly fine! Amazon site and service is not what it once was. Deliveries get worse. Costs more, getting less. A Disaster.
