Be gentle with the screws. Decent cheap option for pre made boxes.
Exactly as advertised. That said they're cheap and made that way. It's thin press-plywood. This means do NOT tighten the screws - you'll just split the wood and be annoyed. If I had to do-over I'd be gentler with the screws (no screw gun) and use woodglue, but they work ... although a few of my chickens insist that dooking out eggs on the floor is better, but that's not an issue with the box I suspect.

Cheap price, cheaply made, but would buy again.
I was ticked at first when I saw an edge came broken, basically splintered apart. Then I thought about how cheap it was, and couldn’t blame anybody but myself. Do NOT spend more than $30-35 on this. If the price goes up, it’s not worth it. Given my few options, my lack of motivation and skill to go build my own from scratch, and knowing it’s lightweight chickens using this, I continued assembling. It was very easy, though annoying. The pre-drilled holes which do exist are not all lined up. I posted a picture of bulging splintered wood from where we screwed it in, and a beautiful non-bulging photo to show some of them worked fine! We decided to reinforce some parts with tape, I decided to add a backing of cardboard from the packaging to give the birds more privacy and covered it completely with tape to make it resistant to poop which will inevitably come down on it until we place bird spikes on the top. They will roost on this! 5-10 minute assembly still, even if you’re taping the crap out of it. A place to lay eggs, cheap price, couldn’t have expected much better. The ruggegg Triplex nesting box is definitely better if you’ve got the money to pay more than double this. We needed six nesting boxes, so we have that one under this one. We got it in person for $49, but on Amazon, it’s over $70. Good luck!

Trash. Literally and figuratively
Absolute piece of junk. Do not waste a dollar on this product. It’s made of such cheap material. It didnt even last 2 months in my coop before one girls weigh broke the top rail and then the bottom broke off from another girl trying to lay, egg broken, she’s fine. Lite that thing on fire and thought about doing the same to the factory that wants our money for this junk. Rather pay the same to slam my hand in a car door. Pay the extra and get quality. Unlike this product, the equivalent of that white stuff that forms at the sides of your mouth when you’re thirsty. Thrash.

It's a good value for what it is
I have single nest boxes from the same company and they have held up just fine over 2 years. I use them indoors - in a coop. This is not outdoor rated wood so if you purchase them for anywhere they will be exposed to weather, they aren't going to hold up like you want. Understand that before you buy. I read the other reviews and I did have a couple issues. One side panel came broken where it attached in the back. Simple fix - I glued it. In fact, I glued all the corners for security. It seems solid enough for what it will be used for. I also had one screw sort of split the wood, even though I put them in slowly. Glue. I have a single one in my grow out now, just so the babies will have a place to curl up and they jump on top of it - it's fine. For the price, you can't beat it. I was looking at ones twice the cost but I don't need a roof or for it to come off the ground. These work in a coop.

Cheap! Thin wood
I needed more nesting boxes ASAP. My pullets were about to lay and the older hens weren’t sharing. I read the other reviews. And I read the reviews on the sheet metal ones. I went with the wood because once sheet metal is bent it’s hard to straighten it. As others have stated. Terrible instructions! The pieces are labeled with A,B, C and D and a few have numbers. Like the number 6? But the instructions don’t use the letters or numbers. 🤣 I feel like rewriting them and sending them a PDF. Also as others recommended, I used wood glue. Lots of wood glue! And I used a screwdriver instead of a power driver. Some of the channels the pieces slide into were broken. I just kept going and used more wood glue. I’m going to give it a couple coats of clear to give it a fighting chance to last two years even though it will be in a sheltered/covered spot. And as some others have mentioned, this is a woman’s job. Impatient men will break it more with the inferior instructions and bowed wood. It takes some finagling!

Wood Glue Necessary
I have 5 hens so purchased two of these as it didn't seem like an expensive option since trying to buy and make my own (in my mind) would have consumed more time, money and energy than I cared to invest. Both pieces were of similar quality and required mending with wood glue. The assembly was not difficult but even with extreme care and ease, the wood would split and the sheets of plywood these nesting boxes are constructed out of separated. This happened for both pieces ordered and affected multiple areas. Seems to be that the dovetail joints were too tight for the thickness/thinness of the plywood. Although the wood pieces were not finished, it was entirely smooth and ready to add to the coop once assembled, no painting or sanding necessary which is definitely a plus. From afar, the entire piece looks good but is definitely a stationary piece that shouldn't be moved or weight bearing - a flat, stable surface is best. If looking for high quality, this would not be a top suggestion but if just looking for a piece to add to a coop, definitely worth the consideration. Not of the best build or material but perhaps among the more affordable options. Just be sure to have access to wood glue and clamps. Had it not required all the mending (and subsequent waiting for glue to try), definitely would have had a higher rating.

Works Great
My chicken started laying eggs the same day I installed. I used some vinyl wall paper to cover it. Works and fits great!!!!

Looks exactly like the picture, easy to assemble !

Happy with this. Plywood can break if you don't pre drill it, but I did and it worked fine. Easy to assemble. Most important, the hens seem to really like this nesting box and choose it above their old ones!!

For the price, I think it's great. Everything fit into place. Do not force anything or it will break.
