How long after treatment can I add supers to the hive?

Well, capped brood will not respond to an Apigard treatment, so I usually treat them after I harvest the honey or during the winter, when brood populations are low. Don't know where you are or at what point in the cycle your bees are at, but this stuff 'oxidizes' after a few weeks, so if you're concerned about how your honey will be, you're likely months away from a harvest; if so, go for it... (caveat: ask this question directed to 10 beekeepers and you'll get 12 different answers...)

The box says this: The active ingredient is Thymol (CAS #89-83-8).....25% Other Ingredients...........................................................75% Total.................................................................................100% I don't know why they don't allow enlarging this picture so the ingredients could be read.

Is it safe to put underneath sorry not styrofoam but a polystyrene top feeder?

I don't know if there will be any reaction with the feeder, but you shouldn't feed while treating.

Small dose for weak hive

Great product but be conservative on its use when applying to small or weak hives. I killed my hive by giving a full dose to a weak hive. The product will kill some bees who are old or weak anyway. But what happened to my hive was that a few bees died and partially blocked the entrance which caused the vapor concentration to increase, which caused more bees to die. The process snowballed and the hive suffocated on the fumes. In my opinion, the product’s effectiveness comes from its being distributed throughout the hive so it comes into contact with the mites. But venting the fumes is important and cannot be accomplished successfully by a weak hive. So use half doses in sequence rather than a full dose on a weak or small population hive.
