No problem at all "pitting" my way through about 20lbs of cherries. Pitting went quickly and that little scoop looking thing on the end allows you to "roll" the cherry into the hole perfectly to snap the pitter. Perfect.No need to adjust the cherry since the pit is in the middle so it can be pitted at any angle. Probably about 95-98% efficient at pitting most cherries. I did find some of the cherry pits were missed.Only difficultly I had was trying to figure out how to get it working. I had to check questions and answers to find someone who figured it out since it came with no instructions. The little black tab on the back end needs to be pushed in and it snaps right open. I ended up having to freeze a gallon worth of cherries and did not want to freeze them with pits in them, so I bought this pitter. It worked pretty well, so long as the pit is big enough, on occasion it would poke a hole through the whole cherry but the pit would still be in the cherry. Overall, it worked for what I needed it to about 95% of the time.. the 5% being me having to check my cherries later to make sure I didn't miss any pits.
