Review: To Wed or Not to Wed - I've now read all five of the Summer Beach books, and while I've enjoyed all of them, this one fell a little flat for me. The situations are still interesting and often fun (especially the scenes with the socialite and neighbor Darla), as is the dialogue, but the relationship between Ivy and Bennett didn't hold true to me (as it had in the previous books). I realize that this is a "sweet" or "clean" romance, and I'm not expecting or wanting explicit sex scenes, but two people in their 40s, both of whom suffered loss, would, from my own experience, want more intimacy and romance than is depicted here. Too many kisses on the cheek and forehead. Really? A romantic weekend getaway would have been great for these two. I also got frustrated with Ivy's back and forth re her feelings for Bennett. One minute she's counting the ways she loves him, and the next she's looking for red flags. I was satisfied with the conclusion, and really liked Carlotta's words of wisdom.
