Great starter kit!
If you're low on pads, this is a great value when you need a little bit of everything. Keep in mind a single pad is going to be hard pressed to do a large job all on it's own, but this will let you try out all the Hex-Logic pads at once to see how well they perform, so you can decide which individual pads you will want in the future. The pad cleaner that it comes with is CONCENTRATED, meaning you'll want to dilute this with water or use it in a small bucket as a pre-soak. If you let your pads sit long enough for all the compound to cure inside the pad, a pre-soak is necessary and this cleaner does a good job. FWIW, you shouldn't let your pads get to that point anyways. As I said this gives you one of everything. Yellow - Heavy Cut & Levelling pad, for use with heavy cut compounds for severely damaged surfaces. Orange - Medium Cut & Heavy Polishing pad, for use with medium compounds & one-step products on damaged surfaces. White - Light Cut and general purpose polishing pad. This is probably the most versatile and well-used on good/decent paint. Blue - Pure polishing pad for use with All-in-One cleaners and glazes, will remove light imperfections and is a really good glazing pad. Black - Extra Fine finishing pad, use this with glazes and all-in-one cleaners on black/dark paint, or paint that's in extremely good shape and/or new. I personally like using this with glazes on new paint that have a sealant built in, or for use with pure sealants and cleaner-waxes. Red - This is the finest of them all, used for the very final application of wax and/or sealants. You can use it for glazes, too - but those will be more effective using the blue or black pads. And finally, the green pad - a cross between white and orange. This pad is extremely versitile and is a great all-around pad for less-than-perfect finishes. I wouldn't use this for final polishing out a black car, but it has the ability to polish out oxidation without cutting, like the orange pad. It was actually designed around ceramic and extra-hard paints that a white pad can't quite correct, and an orange pad can diminish. If only they offered this kit with the ability to choose each of the 7 pads...

Great Starter Kit!
This is a great starter kit, for anyone who likes to detail and it lets you try it all at once. My husband uses these with his porter cable buffer, and loves them! Pads are meant to work on flat or rounded/angled surfaces, this well keep your pads from falling apart. Also it is a concentrated cleaner so you must dilute it. Yellow Heavy Cutting Pad - Use this pad to apply compounds or polishes to remove severe oxidation, swirls, and scratches in conjunction with a polishing compound. It is the most aggressive and should only be used on oxidized and older finishes. Always follow this pad with an orange pad and a fine polish and then a white pad to refine the paint until it is smooth. Orange Medium-Heavy Cutting Pad - This firm, high density foam is ideal for scratch and defect removal. The orange foam offers the correction of a typical compounding pad while at the same time allowing the polishing ability of light cut foam pad. When used with heavier compounds it will remove moderate swirls and scratches with little or no haze. It s an all around pad that will work on most light to moderate imperfections. Green Heavy Polishing Pad - This pad is used by Mercedes Benz at OEM level and is designed to be used with a random orbital polisher (like the Porter Cable) It produces less spot heating and has a unique compression/load/deflection ratio which means it conforms quickly to contours. It is a high strength foam with 60 pores per sq. inch yet is softer and more forgiving than our regular foams which have 80 pores per sq. inch. This pad is tough enough to remove swirls and scuffs while at the same time producing a high gloss swirl free finish. This foam is also ideal for applying one-step cleaner waxes. It is a balance of polishing and finishing that is perfect for all-in-one product application. White Medium -Light Polishing Pad - Less dense foam formula for the application of waxes, micro-fine polishes and sealants. This pad has very light cutting power so its perfect for pre-wax cleaners. It is the most well used pad as it is ideal for application of pre-wax cleansers as well as many finishing polishes such as Pro-Polish Or FP-Final Polish.` Blue Glaze & Cleaner Foam Pad - Unique Composition complements all glazes and light surface cleaners perfectly delivering a super fine finish for use with ultra fine polishes life FP or any glaze. Black Finishing Foam - Composition is firm enough to withstand added pressure during final finishing to remove buffer swirls. It has no cut and will apply thin, even coats of waxes, sealants, and glazes. Red Perfection Pad Ultra Fine Finishing Pad - This pad has a ultra soft composition for applying refined paste waxes and sealants as well as crème waxes. Flat pad provides full contact with paint surface to minimize the pressure applied by the user.

Great pads if you get them all...
After nearly destroying the clear coat on a 2012 Mustang and being a complete novice when it comes to automotive paint systems I did a lot of reading prior to picking up the 8 pack of pads and cleaner. My initial order was short 3 pads but Amazon sent a replacement set next day which was nice because I didn't want to loose a weekend waiting for pads. After 2+ full days of work the finish on the Mustang has never looked better. I had heavy scratches but none that would catch a fingernail so after a good wash and Meguiar's clay kit I started out with the yellow pad and Meguiar's ultimate compound. It took several slow and even passes with the PC 7346SP DA and compound to level the scratches but the results were very impressive. The Meguiar's ultimate compound is great to work with and wipes off easily. I then picked up the white pad and Meguiar's ultimate polish. The pad was fantastic put the polish is far more difficult to work with as it dries to near concrete almost instantly. If the polish dries before you can get it wiped the Meguiar's ultimate detailer will take it off safely. I then used the red pad to apply the Meguiar's ultimate liquid wax. This was the only combination that gave me a problem. The red pad is considerably softer than the other pads and will tend to collapse if you move to fast with the DA. The red pad also will absorb a very large amount of wax liquid giving you the impression the pad is dry. DO NOT APPLY MORE WAX TO THE PAD between sections. When I went to clean the pad it was completely saturated with liquid wax so I ended up wasting a good deal of wax. The pads clean up beautifully with the included cleaner and are ready for reuse. I did not see any pad deterioration after many extended uses.

REAL HONEST REVIEW!
I LOVE these pads and the cleaner works unbelivebaly well. These are a MUST HAVE PRODUCT especially the cleaner. Ill start with the pads PROS: 1) durability - i still use the fist pads i bought (almost a year ago) and have done many large projects with them 2) functionality - They do EXACTLY what they say they do with no short cuts or failures 3) ease of use - The hook and look makes life so easy and reduces the time it takes to do your project or job. Very forgiving! 4) clean very easy - Paired with the cleaner and hot water the product and paint color you get on them just falls off the pads its amazing. Cons: 1) you have to be careful with all foam pads when you get near stick on logo badges, they will grab and take a small piece of the pad. 2) the pad will gunk up in the dead center after a little while id recommend getting at least 3 of your normally used pads if you plan on doing a full vehicle in a single day. when the pad gunk's up you loose cutting power. I use the yellow, orange and black pads more then anything and since the black pads are just polish with no cutting its not a huge deal to have many but your yellow and orange pads do cut or i have quite a few of them. Chemical guys did come out with a Hex Logic Quantum pads that are the same but with a hole in the middle. They do not gunk up bad at all, the issue was the heat that the center will generate after long period of use but these work just at well. you just have to monitor your equipment like everything else. This is an awesome cleaner only takes 2 sprays per pad, lasts a very long time, and like all chemical guys products IT SMELLS AWESOME. There are not Cons that i have come across. I am not affiliated with chemical guys or paid to give reviews. I am a normal guy given REAL HONEST REVIEWS!

Didn't get the 7 Foam pads with my order ***2nd time around they got it right***
This is more of a review of Amazon but also extends to Chemical Guys. Upon opening the box, which I thought was a little small a first, I realized that Amazon only shipped me the Foam pad cleaner and didn't send the foam pads. What was strange was the bottle was in a one gallon zip bag with at sticker attached to it indicating that this was in fact the 8 piece kit. What I want to know is how they planned on fitting 7 5.5" foam pads AND the bottle in a one gallon bag with out crushing and potentially ruining all the pads. Yes foam compresses but I've ruined pads before by leaving them on the buffer and letting the buffer sit on it for a while. Not only that, I didn't get the spray nozzle like shown in the photos. So one of two things, 1. Either Chemical Guys screwed up and didn't include the foam pad with the kit and some picker in the Amazon warehouse just gets it off the shelve and doesn't look at it to see if anything is missing or 2. Amazon lost the foam pads because the 1 gallon bag was not sealed all the way when I opened my box. Either way, I called immediately after opening to ask for a replacement. Amazon said I had to send back the cleaner (paid for by them) and they would send me another kit. The CS rep said this time she would make a note to the warehouse staff to make sure the foam pads are included in this kit. I'll update the review to see if they get it right. **********UPDATE 6/26/14************** After sending back the foam cleaner to Amazon, two days later the new kit arrived at my door. I Opened the box and sure enough all the items were in the box. Three of the foam pads were not in the gallon bag and floating around in the box so this tells me that they probably got lost in the Amazon warehouse the first time around. Maybe Chemical Guys need to put these kits in bigger bags to keep all the contents together and prevent what happened to me. This time it also included the spray nozzle for the foam pad cleaner. The pads are awesome! the honeycomb design helps hold product on the pad and distributes it evenly as you work the surface of the car. Haven't use the cleaner yet but it should work just fine. Thank you Amazon for making this right.

Great product!
As a novice, I wasn't sure what to expect from this product. After using, I couldn't be more pleased. I used these with the V series polishes from Chemical Guys, and the Porter Cable 7424XP as this seems to be the most common setup. I polished 3 year old paint on a full sized Ram. I spot polished, (worked out some scratches with the yellow pad and the Chemical Guys V32 polish, followed by complete polishes using the orange (with V34) and the white (with V36). Each step the truck seemed more and more shiny, It now looks fantastic; the paint was't even this nice when I drove off the dealer lot. I didn't get too aggressive and try to remove all the factory orange peel, (yet), but was extremely pleased with the results with just theses steps. I have not yet used the blue, black, or red pads as the finishing products were applied differently, but I may soon do a full polish with the blue and the V38 to see the difference. I also now feel that with the DA polisher and these pads, the policing process is VERY safe. If you have any concerns about burning your paint, you won't. I saw absolutely no signs of paint damage occurring no matter the pad/compound/polisher speed I used. I'm not sure what you would have to do to mess this process up, but it would be difficult To those who have burned up these pads, think the technique must have been improper. I will say that you may need to be a little careful buffing around the end of badges and trim, but after buffing a full-sized truck, the pads still look fantastic. I did need to stop, clean and dry the pads about every 1/4-1/3 of the truck so if you were doing a car, you would likely have to do the same at least once, or have a second pad standing by. I have attached photos of the pads I used after polishing the entire vehicle.

Very Good Value. The cleaner is concentrate so the picture is a bit misleading.
A great "starter" set with everything you need for buffing. As far as pad quality there is very little variation in the foam itself among the more popular brands, as I understand it the foam itself comes from the same manufacturer. Whats less clear is who does the backing to foam part of the manufacturer so there may be differences between the brands. The quality is good and for your average joe/jane these are plenty enough. What is worth considering is the type of pads you need for the type of correction you are doing. Its near 100% certain most people will not use a few of these pads at all especially the yellow and orange pads that have the highest "cut" levels and are only used when doing major corrections. The other thing to note which was not clear to me is the picture shows the pad cleaner rejunvenator as a spray solution. This is a bit misleading. The package includes a trigger spray, however the liquid itself is concentrate which means you cant just throw on the trigger spray to the bottle, you need to first make a diluted spray. This is fantastic however as it means with concentrate you get more bang for your buck and one bottle will last you a long time. I bought two kits so I am set for life. lol Like I said for a amateur wanting to do his/her own corrections and paint maintenance you cant beat this kit. You do not need to buy anything else if you are doing your own car once or twice a year.

DIY detailing. Twice a year.
These pads are awesome. I use a DA. I always used Lake country CCs before. I prefer the Hex. They are closed cell which makes them softer. They mold to the contours of the panel. They also do not absorb the product like the CCs. I am using them with the V Series of polishes Chemical Guys GAPVKIT16 V Line Polish and Compound Kit - 16 oz. (4 Items) Its like these two products were made for each other. The time it takes me to do a car has been cut way down and I use much less product which saves money. I usually start with an orange pad and V34, sometimes V32 if the paint has a lot of oxidation. I rarely need a yellow pad unless there are some deep scratches that would otherwise require a 1500-3000 grit color sanding to get out. I really like the green pad and the V36 cutting polish to remove the ole auto car wash marring and holograms. Otherwise I use a white pad with V36 to remove the swirls. Follow it up with a blue and V38 to bring out the mirror finish. I use The Wet Mirror Finish Gloss Magnifier Chemical Guys GAP10416 Wet Mirror Finish Ultra Slick Gloss Magnifier - 16 oz. on my cars since they are black. Then I follow it up with a Jetseal and Blackfire Wax

Great Pads
These pads fit my 6" orbital pad and stuck like glue, in fact it took two hands to remove them. No chance that these pads could fall off while working with them. I was able to polish out a lot of bush scratches on both sides of my black truck. The pads that I used are still in very good shape and the truck looks like new now. Only downside is that I was sideswiped the day after I finished polishing my truck. I guess I should have seen that coming: wash car and watch it rain!
