Lonely Planet Istanbul 9 (City Guide) Review: Current and valuable guide - Great guide with current information. Even the entry fees were a curate, took a little bit of focusing and understanding of the city's different areas to use the book. I plan to submit recommendation on some eateries and second home hostel and about all the Labradors and other digs sadly living on the streets and how vendors feed and fill water bowls for them and all the cats Review: Good info for Istanbul - This was great to have in Istanbul (and I have the Kindle version, so it was lightweight to carry around). It had a lot of good restaurant and neighborhood recommendations. We used it quite a bit and felt it gave us lots of good info!

Rather thorough
Used to plan an extended stay in Istanbul. Pretty good. Would like them to add alternative names to places to avoid confusion. Lonely Planet does not publish a comprehensive map of the city which is very important even if it people buy it separately. However, the maps in the back of the book do help. Bought one needed from another company.

Excellent Information
I loved the information provided in the book and all the places to visit. I did find other places that wasn't big tourist attractions that weren't mentioned and were just as interesting. I also liked a listing of restaurants. I tried some which was very good.

We found this guide book very handy and helpful. Covered most of the places mentioned in the book. Going through this book before our trip helped us easily navigte across Istanbul and efficiently use public transport to minimise cost of commuting.

I love the Lonely Planet series and find the books very useful. You can find everything online as well but these books are just such a good summary of everything you need to know plus much more when you travel. I even booked accommodation according to the advice of the author. I bought the latest edition which is well-updated and all the info was relevant. Bought this online after I saw it in Waterstones and saved almost ยฃ5.
