It's especially important to clean your finger, gently squeeze the blood so you don't force intracellular fluid out, wipe away the drop and gently squeeze another (big) drop. You also need to make sure your test strips aren't expired. I've made over 30 tests, and only one gave an error message. All the others gave appropriate values. This is a much cheaper lactate meter than the alternatives, though a lot of the cost is in the strips. (I've included the results of one of my lactate tests as an example.) Review: Not working as Cholesterol monitor - I bought this for the single purpose - to monitor my cholesterol levels.
