Review: Excellent sound! - Even and balanced response from string to string! I have it wedged on the E string side and was blown away at the quality of tone, and I’ve gone through at least five different pickups and mic systems. Easy install. I play blues country and jump blues on a quality ply bass and this pickup gives me the classic ‘thump’ , with plenty of low end and clarity. Very natural sounding!
Review: I like this a lot... and the price is the best deal for a pickup in this class... - Very easy to install and uninstall... I love the sound of this, very even across the strings. I play mostly jazz, mostly pizzicato. Nice frequency response, lows, mid and highs are all very nice and balanced. I installed on the G string side. Tip: Try different shim thicknesses, (they are included) I preferred the sound that was not too tight. I recorded the bass a bunch of times, direct, to really hear just the pickup. I recommend a direct box with at least 1 meg-ohms impedance. I used a countryman type 10 in the studio, it's 10 meg-ohms and the pickup sounded the best that I have owned. Live or when running thru a bass amp, I use the Radial Engineering Bassbone OD, it is also a 10 meg-ohms input with the switch engaged. I also own the David Gage realist, K&K bass max, Rev Solo Double Bass Pickup. This is currently my favorite only exceeded by my DPA 4099 mic. The DPA mic sounds so much better than any pickup but a pickup is needed live. (I use the pickup for the monitoring on stage, the mic for the live sound and recording, this allows a lot more volume before feedback). Good luck!

**Q: Will this work for everyone ?**
A: It should work for any double bass with a bridge and tailpiece (which should be every double bass to my knowledge).

**Q: do i need to take a string off to mount this?**
A: Hello, Thank you for the question. You don't need to take off the strings. Just simply install the piezo element in the eye hole of the bridge and then snake it under the strings as seen in the picture.

**Q: Would a standard guitar amp cord work for the output?**
A: Any standard instrument cable with 1/4" jack plugs will work connected to this pickup and amp.

**Q: Is it better to use a balanced or an unbalanced cable with the kna db1?**
A: Hello. Thanks for the question. To give the right answer to this question, we must take into account many factors that could have an impact. It depends on what is the input of the amplifier and what is also the preamplifier of the equipment. Will it be plugged into the console, at what distance and such things also matter. Without knowing what you have as equipment, it is too difficult to give an answer.

In general, for home conditions and short distances in ordinary equipment - unbalanced cable will do the job. If it is to be connected to a mixing console to which many other power and signal cables are already connected, it is good to be balanced, provided that the input of the equipment is adapted for such a cable.

Very easy to install and uninstall... I love the sound of this, very even across the strings. I play mostly jazz, mostly pizzicato. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great sound. Easy to install.

This pickup sounds great and is easy to install. I get a balanced sound across all strings. It even works well with my effects pedals. It's amazing. I did have a bit of user error upon first use. The guitar cable requires a solid push-in to lock in place and get a clear signal. I kept getting static and feedback because I hadn't pushed it in all the way. I thought it was a problem with the pickup. I almost returned it but soon realized that I hadn't used enough force to push the cable all the way in. So, make sure you push your cable in until it locks in place.
