I ended up making it work by cutting back about 4" (they recommend 3") so I could initiate a bend in the wires to get them into the contactor ports. Do the ground first, twist it and get it as flat as possible, then red and black and bring the white in over the top of the red and black. The Line side was easier because there are no amp sensors on that side. My advice to Progressive is make the circuit box 2" longer, it will save anyone within hearing distance from encountering a crazy, swearing installer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Proved itself already *by R***J on Reviewed in the United States on August 13, 2019* On our second trip we had intermittent low voltage first on L1 and later on L2 due to inadequate campground wiring. While we were not happy with losing one air conditioner temporarily we were very happy to know the EMS protected the A/C compressor from damage caused by low voltage.I wish the unit had the ability to use two digital readouts simultaneously, though, and then I would add the second one. While you can install both an interior and a basement display, only one can be active at a time. So if we have a power issue and I forgot to flip the switch to change the display to the interior one I'm still going outside in the rain. There's no way there is $90 worth of electronics in a second display box and a switch box so lets make it a bit more user-friendly, folks. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I am glad I have this and will always have one no ... *by S***H on Reviewed in the United States on January 26, 2015* Saved me once from a High Frequency issue.After purchasing my first camper I did a lot of ready on how to protect your camper. One of the things I read a lot was the power pedestals at campgrounds can be very dangerous for your camper. One of the things people said to do was protect it with a surge protector. Which one, well that was on the consumer.So I began my long search on the right power protector for my camper. I saw Progressive Industries EMSHW50C Surge Protector and Technology Research 34560-004 50 Amp Hardwire Surge Guard as my two options that I wanted.Reasons for wanting to purchase hardwired over portable was simple for me. I didn't want to have to fool with plugging in the portable one every time we set up camp. I just wanted a system that worked automatically when I plugged my wire into the pedestal. Both these units had their pros and cons. I ultimately settled on this Progressive one as they up the warranty to Lifetime and it was for sure a USA product.Once the unit arrived at my home, I opened the box and then decided on a location in my camper that it would fit hidden, but I could still get the remote display to a accessible area. I then had to buy a short piece of 6/3 jumper wire. This wire is so difficult to work with as it is stiff. Mounted the unit, wired it then plugged the camper in and.............I had no power! :( I started looking at how I wired the unit and discovered a flaw in my wiring. Yes, I had wired it backwards, were I wired the output side to the input side. Ooops. Lesson learned and rewired the surge protector. Turned the power back on and waited the 15 seconds for the unit to check for issues and then the unit came on and showed no faults on my power side. Now every time I go to a campsite, plug in my camper, I can check to make sure the pedestal doesn't have issues.Since then though I have sold my old camper and removed the surge protector from that camper and installed it in my new one. The new camper is much more expensive and has a lot more expensive equipment in it.This time I have a built in generator and I installed this unit before the transfer switch as the generator has its on built in surge guard already.I have since had a High Frequency error on the display from the last campground we stayed at.
