## Questions & Answers

**Q: Have a 75 lb Labrador Retriever that licks front forefoot area above the paws raw. Would this work to stop the licking?**
A: I think it would make it more difficult, but I also think he/she might still be able to lick the front paw area. You would probably be better off with an Elizabethan collar which extends out below the chin.

**Q: Does this prevent access to hind foot?**
A: I borrowed a 7 inch collar for my 60 lb pit mix from work (I work at an animal clinic.) It was the only thing that kept him from his surgery incision on his hind leg (he had escaped/eaten/bashed to destruction all of the traditional plastic collars we use and even some alternatives.) However, he looked ridiculous and couldn’t bend his neck to drink water or eat and it covered his ears.

Thinking it was a genius product but way too big, i sized up for the 5 long which is recommended for pit bulls. It looks
Like it should in the pic and he can drink/eat but I also discovered he can most definitely reach his hind leg.

So the answer is YES, but make sure it is appropriately fitted and size up when it doubt. Temporary discomfort is a small price to pay for surgery complications, destroyed sutures, and infections. If the dog can reach its back half, get a bigger size, even if it looks insane. The dog will get used to it and you can always take it off to eat or drink. The dog won’t die of thirst while you’re at work. But it could get extremely injured in a post op collar that doesn’t fit right.

**Q: I can't find any info that tells how to choose a size of BiteNot Collar for my dog**
A: On bitenot.com there is a sizing chart

**Q: I have a dog chewing his inner back thigh. he scratched off the pool float cone and scratched until he broke the elizabethian. will this help?**
A: I would see what Bite Not collar widths are available then re-create that width with a household item (such as a rolled up towel), then place the towel around the dog's neck and see if he/she can reach the inner thigh. Dogs come in various body types/leg lengths etc so I would make this assessment prior to buying a collar.
