Just read all the reviews as well **Q: Is the carpet supposed to be completely clean when the water is completely clear?** A: If you are sucking up clear water, yes the area you are cleaning should be clean. However I let mine dry, pretreated it again and went back over it to make sure and the penetrate deeper. It seemed to work.
